Adam Doueihi #227

Some of the posts and arguments on here regarding AD now look completely misguided. If the final deal accepted by AD was $350k per year for 2 years and Richo stood firm on that even though the Dragons offered $500k per year, then Richo has done exactly the right thing and secured AD for good value (hopefully if he remains on the field).
It is a good positive story for the club and for Benji as well. Especially with all the rubbish touted that they were on bad terms. Benji has been nothing but glowing about AD.
Obviously like many of us - Richo had a strong sense of AD’s future value to the group and the fact that he stood firm on that is a credit to his management of our roster.

safely stored in the cloud .LOL
I do recall Hagipantalis would store the most sensitive documents in the cloud too... carefully folding the contract in to a paper airplane and zip off it went out his apartment window.

Blueprints for his next 5 year plan were kept a little closer....tucked snuggly in the sweaty rim of his fedora.

What an enigma of a man.

Lee and Pascoe would have just re- signed AD for $700k a year

I suggest he was contacted by Moses and he said sure, if you can find a deal that I like, I'll look at it and you'll get a commission, but his negotiations with the Tigers were between him and the club.

He never once trotted out the "I'm just leaving it to my manager line". He just said "we'll see what happens". He also called out Richo directly which indicates he wasn't leaving it to Moses.

Could be wrong, but it seems it has gone down that way.

Agree. We know he has been his own manager for a while but remember him saying on an interview a month or so ago Mosses isn’t my manager.

Either way who cares. He is staying & the deal isn’t bad at all.

You hear some doozys on here. Apparently Cooper Cronk is our halves coach.

Really happy to see another talented Wests Tigers junior re-commit to the club. This refutes much of the usual press hype that AD and Benji are at loggerheads, and that Isaac Moses will steer Adam away from the Tigers to a better deal.
Lets face it Adam offers so much more to our team than Bud Sullivan, Jock Madden and Jack Bird. He is the sort of player that opposition coaches would look at and say, gee I hope Doueihi doesn't have a blinder this week. His ability to play and kick from the right side is also a bonus. Well done AD, Benji and Richo.

not to mention his penchant for Justines sweaty rim. Think its obvious who wore the hat in that managerial blunder

As much as we love AD and I'm a big fan Richo has done an excellent job extending him on the reported 400k for 2 years.

Other CEO's would have offered more but he knew we have quite a few halves and need the money for other players.

Just smart business and I hope he stays in the halves this year and Latu can do 14 /13 the remaining 4 games to get game exposure.

over the off season Benji can train AD for 13 etc..

Clearly I don’t agree.
Luai has been phoning it in most of the year.
He talks a big game off field then does little on it. The bloke couldn’t organise a root in a brothel so he’s the sticking point…we have one half and supposed leader who is not living up to his promise and enormous price tag and we are baulking at offering a bloke who is displaying more in both areas the opportunity to earn a third of that salary.
It appears once again we will let a non PI walk away. You need a balanced squad. Hive minds do not work.
So you ready to drop this rubbish about non PI players now? especially because AD literally said Benji is a big reason why he stayed.

Richo played a strong hand , the double bluff

No… and I don’t think we would be
With matching Saints offer just to retain Doueihi?

Circumstances have proven that the clowns saying we needed to increase our offer to match the Dragons - were ignorant- reactive and wrong!

He didn't stay for less due to loyalty either way he now spins it - it is for a familiar security blanket and soft-hand that he would not have at the Dragons!

And being a live-at-home kidult from a wealthy family - with no partner or kids - he can financially afford the $100-150K offset compared to the commutes to Wollongong for training...

This is a win for sanity as the squad develops - and Adam will face increasing pressure to hold any of the stop-gap positions he currently fills!

The most significant takeaway for the Doueihi fans is that zero other NRL clubs showed any interest - even with Moses seeking offers on his behalf....

We could have kept him for even less - if Flanno hadn't stalked him.

Flanno also just got a further 2 years for achieving nothing and never getting his recruitment targets over the line - while the dopes here are calling for Benji's head when he started from a much lower base.
