Adam Doueihi #227

If the club stay true to form , and spoil the brat as they did through his years of rehab - i'd expect a masseur there for Adam and his ego ,while he gets over himself this weekend

I'm sure there is another side to ADs story. Whether it's fair or not is another story.

I don't think Benji has upset any players other than John Bateman? Klemmer was fine, Brooks was fine, never had issues with Luau, Api, Turuva, Twal etc.

Galvin not really a senior player if that's who you are referring to
Bateman, Nofa and I don’t think it ended well with Klemmer either.

Benji’s made the right decision in those scenarios but there may be an issue with how he communicated the decision.

And yet JL stays in his favoured position but AD doesn’t.
Luai is a good tackler and looks a potentia L lock to me ?
Why not swap Douehi and Luai.
And Douehis been a shining light earlier this year, without a lot of help.
yes let's move a state of origin and 4 time premiership winner from 6
Jason Andrews is the future 6
AD plays where he is told to play fir the benefit of the team

Agree mate, not what you expect ! He’s wrong, but my point is that Benji obviously didn’t read the room to avoid this.
OR the room was calling for AD to be moved on (ie senior playing group) and AD has had the spit. We are all guessing - the only thing we can say for sure, depending on your opinion, is that his play over the last month has been well below par on both side of the pill. Luai han't been great, but the defence on his edge, and he himself, are not leaking like a sieve. If the 7 can't defend and can't drive the team aroudn the park effectively there has to be change. Notice the difference with LAtu was palying 7 last week? The writing was on the wall then.

Is it the old bullying, favouring young players, favouring Polynesians stuff?

I think the answer is quite simple. Benji is an unqualified coach and probably doesn't know what he's doing.

But he's the coach, he's in-charge and you do what he says.

I have said he has been the best player this year ..but he has flaws in his game ..one of which is that he is a very selfish player … if you are AD you can’t pull this lever ..particularly with everything else going on at the club right now
Gross over reaction by both parties, but ridiculous that the coach has let it escalate to this publicly

Sorry mate, but I'm not making excuses for that behaviour.

If the coach asks you to shift so he can try something new, you need to be a team player.

As a senior player, he's also ruined a kids debut and made him feel unwelcome.

We can debate lots of things including whether or not Benji was right to do so, but you can't walk out of training and rule yourself out of games if there's something you don't like.
Agreed. Not to mention what the club has done for him and supported him through all his injuries.

Both Jarome Luai and Adam Doueihi have worn several positional jerseys across their NRL careers, though one is a specialist playmaker and the other is a true backline/spine utility.

Jarome Luai

While primarily known as a five-eighth, Luai has filled several positions across his career for the Penrith Panthers and Wests Tigers:
  • Five-Eighth: His core position, where he played the vast majority of his career alongside Nathan Cleary at Penrith and currently for the Wests Tigers.
  • Halfback: Regularly steps into the primary playmaker #7 role when standard halfbacks are unavailable (such as filling in for Cleary during Origin periods or at Wests Tigers).
  • Interchange / Utility: Early in his Penrith career (2018–2019), he regularly was named on the bench as an impact weapon.
  • Fullback: Has filled in at #1 on rare occasion during mid-game re-shuffles.
  • Centre: Has filled in at centre briefly during games due to injuries.
(Note: At representative level, Luai has also played Hooker for Samoa).

Adam Doueihi

Doueihi is one of the most versatile backline players in the competition, having started or played in virtually every position across the backline and spine during his time at South Sydney and Wests Tigers:
  • Five-Eighth: Played extensively at #6 for Wests Tigers.
  • Centre: A primary position for him at both South Sydney and Wests Tigers, utilising his size and strong running game.
  • Fullback: Played heavily at #1 during his early career, including periods at Souths and during his first season at Wests Tigers in 2020.
  • Halfback: Shifted into the #7 jersey at various stages for Wests Tigers to direct team organization.
  • Wing: Played on the wing during his early NRL matches at South Sydney.
  • Lock / Bench Utility: Has come off the bench or shifted into middle lock/utility roles during games.

If he leaves, it answers our halves problem for next year...still got hopes for Schuster too...hopefully he doesn't bail if asked to play 13
Lock has been a problem for too long mate, time to pull the finger out and decide if they want to persist with Twal or bring in a recruit.

Schuster should be grateful for the opportunity, his career was headed for the dump, hopefully he doesn't feel entitled.

You might have noticed me being a bit pissy lately man, just had a gutful of the never ending drama that is the Wests Tigers.

Not if Luai at 6 is, in the opinion of the coaching staff, the best for the team. It would have taken a lot of moral courage to put AD on the spot. Give the coachign staff credit for making hard decisions. One minute they are too soft and not making changes and the enxt they are being hauled over the coals for doing so.

Right or wrong, the moral courage shown to sit AD down, is what we need from the coaching staff. Was it the hard right decision or ust a hard decsion? I guess we will fidn out on Saturday at 1500.
If he was making the hard decision he would have dropped luai

Silly question
Why does A.D. have to play lock.
Would have been selected in the NSW team if he wasn’t injured, and now he has to play lock……please.
Very disappointing all round.
Because the the coach told him too, who the fark is AD to tell the coach what position he will or won't play... .

AD dogged it in the biggest possible way...he can never pull the jersey on again !!!!
