Adam Doueihi #227

Its a tongue in cheek comment from fans who have had enough. Obviously the license isn't going to be revoked but it should be. WT's are the worst run sporting operation in Australia and have been for years (except Richo's brief spell). I am disgusted with the place.
I agree wholeheartedly but i just don't get why people just call for the licence to be revoked. I understand some people are more emotionally caught up in the rubbish that continues but i just feel its a bit over the top to call for the licence to be revoked.

Any release will have a clause to ensure there is no disparagement of the club, same as when Galvin left and very common for payouts...
100% thats why i dont buy this talj about doing it to help the club. If nothing is released to the public how is any pressure applied to fix anything. They wont do it internally.

Depends what happens next.
What if luai isnt named tmw?
What if an assistant it let go early?
Maybe his concerns were legitimate and action is happening.

Shaun single handedly turned the mariners around. He might give a soft nice guy persona to the media, but I think he knows how to get stuff done.

Im backing Benji.

He needs some high quality assistants around him and despite how much I like Morris & Hodgo as players + people, on the outside, it doesn't look like they've assisted.

Ben Gardiner + one of Elijah Taylor, Josh Jackson or Dale Finucane for mine.

Or one of the roosters assistants.
Let get Benji the help he deserves.
I’m a big Gardiner fan but think he’s signed to Perth and no doubt on a promise as a pathway to replace Mal in a few seasons ala Kristian at the Fins from Bennett.

But he had his hat in the ring for the dragons job. Apparently all not well between Mal and Ben.

Mal seems like a figurehead. I find it hard to believe he’ll be the one coaching. One of the most bizarre coaching appointments in recent memory.

No doubt Shaun knows what hes doing. Other thing also is maybe since thursday Adam had a sniff around for other clubs and there were no takers. What Adam has done is lose lose for us. We cannot come out of this with any form of win. Benji has lost by taking him back. Club has lost with the continuation of the media pile on all from Adams camp. Adam has lost with the hit to his image in the N R.L community. The biggest loser out of this is Benji. He has been undermined publicly and now the player is coming back into the fold. He has lost authority in the dressing room. Imo by doing this he has guaranteed he will be punted and we will have no success while he is our coach. As for assistants we were destined to get new ones anyway, no way Hodgeson and Morris were staying on after the debacle this year. Im all for giving people a 2nd chance, i love Adam hes sn all heart player, not the best but tries. But if were all honest with ourselves and look at what we said about Galvin, me personally i said he needed to go. Even i can admit what Adam has done is so much worse. Galvin said he wanted to go and was demoted to reserve grade and didnt whinge just did it. Adam walked out on the team. Imo Adam had to be let go, no matter the issues you never leave your mates in the trenches, talk to the coach later but never, never leave your mates in the trenches alone. By allowing him back Benjis authority has been eroded, Shaun should have told Adam to go. Then insisted Benji accept experienced assistant coaches next year, by remindibg him hes nothing to lose, no point worrying about someone pinching your job when if nothing changes, your jobs gone anyway. Players need to know Benji is in charge. I just cant see how that hasnt been eroded now. Even if its only a tiny bit. What example are we setting for the younger guys coming through. Your only as good as the hill your willing to die on.
As a club we continuosly buckle.

Problem we have is the multi millionaires that could all buy the club are in their 70's and 80's, we have been crap for so long that we have lost a generation or two of fans. Arthur and Harry's kids are probably following other clubs.....I have to threaten and bribe my kids to remain loyal to the WT...its almost child abuse.
Threaten?????????? What, you'll make them watch replay after replay of our biggest loosing matches. Im lucky my teenage daughter wants nothing to do with any sport. 🙂

OR... emotions were high, egos were hurt, and the media did what it does and sensationalises and calls it a crisis but in reality this sort of thing happens in all industries, businesses, companies, relationships. The mature thing is to communicate it through and repair.

Looks like all parties were mature enough to resolve things, and maybe we should applaud that (or at least accept it) and we all move forward.

I think the other issue is, how many coaches would want to coach under Benji. The assistant coach candidates will be better credentialed than Benji and Benji will be learning off them instead of the other way around.
Good - let them do the coaching and Benji can do man managing, hand out high fives and call everyone bro every 5 mins.

It actually makes me sick everytime I see him run plays at training. Smacks of someone that hasn't accepted they are actually retired.

Hed learn much back from standing back and viewing everything that goes on ......

Good post.

Huge sign of weakness if he stays...club stands for nothing and Marahalls position is compromised...juniors loʻk around wondering who is in charge.
You gotta cut all ties

Yes maybe, however.

I have been harping on this for a while and we need to know what happened.

In a SMH article today Christian Nicolussi said, "He was also frustrated it took him several days to track down Marshall to be told about the positional switch, and Jarome Luai, who is off to the Eels next year, was not the half asked to move"

This is important, is this just spin from the AD camp or is it fairdinkum?

"Took him several days to track Marshall down to be told about the positional switch........"

If this is true (which I hope not), then I think Benji needs to have alook at his processes and approach to dropping someone.

AD and any player deserves much better then this (If it happened)

It does seem like assistants are almost as important if not more than the coach these days.

I also think Benji being quite young adds to some of the disrespect dished up by the players.

If we treat Benji as a figurehead, it is a better path forward.

These articles are designed to illicit this type of response from people that eat it up and run with it.
