Adam Doueihi #227

Mate, I sat there with my kids in the cold and had to explain why their favourite player couldn't make it. I sat in the car for 3 1/2hrs back with them to our home in albury devastated after the loss. They only get to see games in melbourne and canberra as sydney is too far to drive. These are their favourite two days of the year and we almost never win. Normally they don't care if the tigers lose, they are use to it, but to not have their favourite player put on his boots not through injury, through a disagreement broke my heart. He can claim he cares about the fans, but in my two kids eyes he couldn't have cared less about them on that day. They were devestated and this is the first time they don't want to be tigers fans. Maybe one day he will earn their respect back and Ill change my mind on him, but till that day I don't want to see him in our jersey. I dont expect others to have such a black and white view on him, but not every fan has to be happy with his apology and having him back either.
I can sympathise with you and the kids. Lets hope he can redeem himself somewhat this weekend and the rest of the year.

TT you carry on as if AD killed someone. He made a mistake, accepted he should have played, apologised to Benji, his team mates and publicly. His name has been tarnished by his actions and his coach and team mates have accepted it. Has been at the Tigers for 6 years with 3 to go. That shows his loyalty to us more than other player in our history. You need to move on and judge his actions on the field hereafter.
Wow sitting out a week of football is the penalty for killing someone... Dramatic much.

I don't need to do anything. Your the one re writing history. But each to their own.

I get the press conference was handled well by AD and Benji but I can’t ever forgive AD for dogging the team and the jersey.

It’s the leaking and premeditated aspect that frustrates me the most and to me that’s unforgivable.

Now AD walks back into the 7 jersey after choosing to sit out a week.

I don’t really care that he’s remorseful. The club has shown that players can throw a tantrum, refuse to play, and get their way. Whole thing reeks of selfishness.

It’s what’s been wrong with this joint for over a decade and if Benji and the club were serious about changing the culture they wouldn’t have indulged AD.

you dont think there are learnings from all parties to be had over this?...Especially Benji!

Of course there are learnings. God you’d hope so after that debacle.

But just because you learn from your mistake doesn’t mean you should be absolved of accountability for your actions.
