Adam Doueihi #227

“Of course he is [the best No.7 at this club]. His form at the start of this season proved why he’s so good."

Who said this very recently?

So, I've just had my Yr 5/6 Friday arvo class, and our discussion started with the NRLW guard of honour that I was lucky enough to attend for Sala's 50th game, to the Roosters giant win last night, then the question, "Miss, what's your position on Adam Doueihi?" Great discussion followed and these kids, who play and follow footy, and are 10 - 12 yeats old, all said he shouldn't be playing and he's not a good team mate.

Top marks kiddos.

Outside of that trial Makasini hasn’t shown much, think he’s been pretty injured.

But every now and then he gets early ball and shows a glimpse of what he can do, has been stopped right on the line a fair few times.

I’m excited to see him after another pre-season.
Same as Terrell, Bula and a few others. They've had to put in more to cover for the guys injired, they're playing injured and guys like Terrell are physically burnt out. Poor bloke needs a week or two to freshen up. We just dont have anyone so he can have a break, imo thats why hes come off the boil this year. Same as heaps of others. We just dont have a roster of 30 players so the regular guys can be rotated out to have a break.

Sound like generation next have morals.

Without a doubt. The closest example I could give is Finefeuiaki at the Dolphins. Came into grade two or three years ago at the Cowboys and looked meh. This year he’s looked like an animal. He’s 22, at the age where players start cashing in on their potential. Makasini is 4 years younger.
You have made a similar comment about Finefeuiaki a couple of times. Looked like a future star from the very beginning, high impact player albeit initially only in shorter minutes off the bench.

Meh is more your Sukkar types

Same .. people forget the guy is 18!!! 18 playing against whiton , stagge, Crichton , Gagai, etc and he is improving the very week .. he will only get better

He’s 18. It’s not beyond the realm of possibility he has a Moses Suli career, never living up to potential. However, the fact we’re not seeing signs of the player he’s been built up to be, outside of steamrolling Edwards in the trial doesn’t mean anything just yet. Very few players his age come into first grade and dominate. Takes a generational talent to do that. Give him two years and he could explode.
Also, he is in a team that is not giving him much opportunity, he is getting some ordinary passes and has pretty much been used as a battering ram/workhorse out of the 20 all year running at a compressed lane of forwards salivating at the chance of putting a shot on the 18 year old upstart .. and has has not shirked it
