Aggression and Mongrel - We need some NOW

**Aggression and Mongrel**. That is what my title says.

Most teams in this TOP 8 think we have none. And they are right. **WE HAVE NONE**.

We have bucket loads of passion. Blokes like Gibbs, Ellis, Payten and Fulton ooze PASSION. They are passionate about their games and they make it an art form when they are at there best.

BUT,

**They lack Oomph !!!** Only Ellis and maybe Payten hits hard. None of the others hit hard. They have no **mongrel** and are conceived as a walk over. They struggle to control the ruck.

Blokes like Daniel Conn and Jared Waerea-Hargreaves are gonna try and bash us.

The Cheating Titans monstered Simon Dwyer the other night. It was embarressing and he was out of his depth so far it was not funny. The Fonz thinks he is the _next Brad Clyde_ so he will pick him again for the Roosters game.

Dwyer needs to go out and make his presence felt in defence otherwise he will be labelled as a **powder puff**. (He is not far off that now !!). A bloke like Dwyer is a MAJOR weakness for us in the intimidation stakes. The guy is a giant but looks like he is gonna break out in tears at any moment. Benji Marshall was hitting harder than Dwyer against the Titans.

Dwyer needs to line someone up in the first minute he is on the paddock and absolutely hit him with everything he has. HE MUST DO THIS, FOR HIS OWN CONFIDENCE AT LEAST.

Beau Ryan needs to put a massive dose of Mongrel and fire into his game. If he doesn't they will toss him into touch like a little school girl in the playground. In fact that is how he has been playing lately, like a little school girl. His efforts in attack and defence have been embaressing. SHOW SOME BLOODY MONGREL BEAU.

Its time to **Kill or be killed.** Get out there and hit as hard as he can as often as he can. Make them feel the pain. Get some confidence in his game.

One other guy who needs to pump up is Flanagan. He is a deadset pretty boy that needs to eat a bloodied steak , run out there a draw blood on the likes of Carney, Pearce and Anasta. **SMASH THEM !!**

**KILL THEM ALL !!!! BRING ON THE ROOSTERS SCUM AND KILL THEM ALL !!!**

Perhaps take some pointers from this little girl?

I like your way of thinking, but I'm not convinced on your personal assessments on some of the boys. Yes they could do with some more Fire and Mongrel, but I dont think they are 'powder puffs' either.

This game will be won in the middle and aggression will ultimately decide the outcome. Aggression can be played in 2 states though. We have the players to show our aggression in SPEED and INTENSITY, rather than mongrel.

Guys like Farah, Payten, Heighington & Ellis are the key to victory. Forget the scoreboard if there is plenty of points, this will be won in the middle!

Go the Tigers!!!

Our forwards have been dominant for much of the season….it's been a monumental improvement.

I agree with TIger Watto's comment above. Agression is one thing but give me the team that plays smarter as opposed to harder any day.

Over to you Mr Sheens…

I suggest you watch Dwyer tackle again take note 60min mark set after the Tit's scored...with some semblance of objectivity...

Dwyer had a shocker on Fri night, but I rate him - he is built like a brick s-t house, is a good hole runner and I've seen him put on his share of strong tackles.

Ellis and Fifita also have plenty of mongrel - but I do agree with you in that I think other sides see us as lacking aggression. I don't think we necessarily do though…

Intensity over aggression anyday.

Also someone should niggle JWH. He has more than the odd brain explosion in him. Target Masoe with multiple runners to punish him when he runs out for a big hit

What lacked last week was energy, cohesion and experience. The energy and cohesion can be worked on in one week, but the lack of experience is what might come back to haunt the WT if Sheens does not play his cards right.

JWH is aggressive but ellis can match him.. ellis tries to rip the bones from every player he tackles!! GRRRRRRRRRRRR ELLIS!

saw some aggressive tackles from dwyer too and fifita isn't bad at it either.

i wouldn't want a hole team of thugs like manly.. thats why they end up 8th and losing games.. try to thug their way to victories! We are better then that

and i think galloway has a bit of an aggressive side to him.. he gets angry very easily

come on tigers!!!! galloway to break some more collarbones

Agree. If the team shows good line speed in defence all evening and bodies in motion in attack, they will win. Completions were terrible against the Titans, 61% for the match, the energy levels were down, as was the intensity for most of the match, and yet they only lost by 3 points. Get that completion rate up to 80%, and watch Benji and Robbie tear the Roosters a new one.

your comments on dwyer show you are clueless.

Penrith are said to have one of the better packs, and we smashed them with rugged defense, I dont see the chooks pack as a real problem, I see their speed and Carney as the real dangers. The funny thing is for a team that is known as the entertainers we dont have a great deal of speed in the backline. Marshall, Danelia and Brown to a lesser extent have some zip but Lote,Ryan,Asyford, fitzhenry and lui are not that quick. Anyway if given a fair shake by the man in the middle Iam confident of a good win

control pearce and carney.
smother them.
do not let them move one bit.
frustrate them all game.
also really give it to anasta.
time to wipe that smug look of his face.

"Ellis and Fifita also have plenty of mongrel" x 2 , I agree ..
Too much agression will sink us deeper with those refs , as is they target us for anything and everything..
We are one of the most cleanest and fairest footy club . No player in our team appears to have the intent or objective to hurt anyone or indulge in foul play.Gibbs is just clumsy so he doesnt count.
Sometimes its good we are timid bunch , all we need is a cheap shot on one of our players to fire the rest of them and thats what we need.. Roosters need to do something silly to spark us and that they will do knowing those bunch of Bondi puffs .. Lets tone "kill or be killed" down to "go hard or go home"

Good to see you firing up for the semi's, Bug! Our media image is one of fluff, but in reality we have a tough pack of forwards. Interesting to note that in 2005 the majority of our experience was in the backs, but in 2010 it is in the forwards.

If we come out will full on aggression for the 80 min and hold a straight line in D we should easily win against the Rorters!

Thats a crazy statment Re Dwery the Kid was a tad excited about the game and dropped a couple of balls he was not dominated this is a learning curve…. next year watch out the boy will be better off the bench.
