AKAOULA

He did not get a lot of game time ,but what he done when he was out there was very good. I think he has a future, ran hard and tackled well. I would like to see him keep his spot next week.

Yeah I thought it was an impressive debut. Some really good signs with some young forwards performing well.

Agree never took a backward step will only get better and he can bend the defensive line. Now we have the forwards sorted out finally after many years of pain with sheens.

Now for our backs to stand up or the broom will have start sweeping the dead wood out.

Solid enough, tough game to debut in but I didn't see him do much wrong. If Fulton is still no go, or Blair/Thompson have a rest, Akaoula should keep a bench spot.

To me it looks like Potter is still learning how to use his bench and when is the best time to inject a certain player.
IMO He's leaving it too late in games to play blokes like BMM or Akaoula. With the excpetion of last night, he timed BMM's first stint to perfection. He needs to get on well before the 60 minute mark.

Potter has shown a liking to keeping one man fresh for the last 20 minutes.

From memory, Pettybourne had great effect in this role against the Panthers.

But In a game like last night v Storm, using only three can burn the pack in 60 minutes.

Still better than Sheens using a benchwarmer for 80mins! I think he would have got more game time if we were more in control, would have been a tough debut to play more than 15-20mins vs Melbourne.

he looks like he could run harder. alot harder.

his first dummy run a few weeks back and he looked like an inform t rex or sbw.

if he hit the line like that every time, well…

Considering he was coming off the bench in State Cup and worked his way from coming off the bench in NYC, to coming off the bench in State Cup and now in FG, he's done very well. I think he'll see a few games this year and I think he has a bit of an x-factor about him. He's pretty tall and looks quite lanky (still weighs 105kg apparently), but he's also very powerful and I think he'll fill out some more yet. Looks destined to be a wide running backrower, one that can break the line and has a very handy offload.

I liked the look of him. Followed the lead of the other forwards and didn't take a backward step. Didn't see his offload but that will come. To play 4-5 games in first grade this year should be considered a huge success for him, then next year look for a full time bench spot.

Big vote of confidence from potter putting him on when the game was in the balance. I thought he might not get a run at all considering the closeness of it.

Thought he played weel agfainst a strong strom side. I'm loving that all the young talent coming through seem to be handling 1st grade well. Hopefully that a great sign for the next couple of years. Mr Potter, keep blooding these guys.
