Albert Kelly wants back in the NRL

Albert Kelly is on the hunt for an NRL gig for next season. The former Titans and Sharks half is in the second year of his contract at struggling Super League side Hull KR and is not expected to be offered an extension.

Kelly could stay in the UK but I’m hearing whispers the 25-year-old is angling for a return home.

Was really good in his time at the Titans, would be on 1/3 of Brooks money, any takers?

I haven't watched the ESL for a while but he was inconsistent in the NRL. Personally I don't think he's the answer if Brooks buggered off they need another Scott Prince - an established NRL half - even if it means paying overs.

Interesting thought but I think he's the wrong type of halfback for us. He's too similar to Brooks and a bit of an individual style runner. He's not consistent either.

I know Albi's agent…
Met Albert a bunch of times, nicest guy.
All the media garbage about him in the past is not what it seems either.

Forget Albert Kelly, we should be scouting ESL for a couple of big aggressive forwards who can play minutes. Graham, Whitehead, Burgess, Cooper have all shown the skill sets we require. Can we uncover any more?

Exactly. Just get one or two quality forwards that can hit and do something in attack and then see how we go.

Our current halves would be very, very good behind a big aggressive pack.

Don't rate Kelly myself.

If Brooks went, I'd be happy with Littlejohn.

As others have said - we need a couple of big aggressive forwards. They and the pack go forward - then you will see how good Moses and Brooks are.

Put them in the Cows or Broncs teams and you all would be loving them.

Maybe. I think we should see how they go when we get a pack that performs week in and week out.

At the same time we can't overpay the guys. 600k is well over market at this point in time.

im happy to take him on the right coin but we need 2nd rowers

even mediocre halves look half decent behind a good back and good halves look atrocious behind ours.

now im not saying moses and brooks will be world beaters, play 200 games, origin etc. what i'm saying is that almost any half would have serious troubles playing behind a pack conceding 4.6km in two games (our last two). the broncos conceded around 1000m in their game last week and 1200m this week.

lets fix the biggest issue in our team, our pack, first.

obviously coaching is probably another area where we'll have to replace JT but that's another thread
