Alcohol

My friend died today.
He was a great man. A soldier, a tough guy, a father. He was super smart and very funny.
He was found in his bed this morning where he died alone and estranged from everyone, from issues relating from his chronic alcoholism, in his mid forties.
He was a great man and he was an arsehole.
Im going to miss him greatly.

You’re right it’s not about alcohol and it’s not about drugs.
It’s a disgusting attempt to discredit a person by association.

The war on drugs has been a complete failure. It's actually refreshing to hear an "older" member being pro pill testing. I mean that in the nicest possible way. Make every drug legal and focus on harm-minimisation. The boomers will say that's endorsing illicit drugs, but people will take it regardless, at least they will know what they are getting!

I have dabbled, a lot. But I have a non-addictive personality. I know others can’t stop when required. But know matter if you’re a one timer, a dabbler, or a complete addict, shouldn’t safety be our number one concern. I will still dabble now if you offer me something, and I should not have to risk my life. I should be able to go to the chemist and ensure that what I got isn’t gunna kill me.
And then go have fun!!! 🤩

This is one boomer who agrees with you UTT. Seems like the best solution to an ongoing issue.
