Everyone needs to get a grip Madge knows what he's doing whats the use of chasing LM if he wanted to be here he would be here now. There has been so much BS in regard to LM that it's smack of double standards he saying Souffs are good to the Indigenous players however to get to Souffs three of his Indigenous brothers have to be shafted go figure remember MADGE HAS A PLAN and if we can get players of 1st grade and SOO standard go for it we have spots to fill in our Cap and there's not to many options out there and if Souffs are contributing to their contracts happy days and also we are all keyboard warriors not RL Coaches
Another phrase I’m sick of “Madge has a plan”. Every coach has a plan.
Some are better than others
His one isn’t looking too crash hot at the moment though is it?
What’s wrong with it ? Multiple elite juniors purchased , through Qld and NSW. Ingrates and bad blokes moved on . A search for elite talent who show the character traits required to buy in . Which , I reckon , would be a lot harder than you might think. To have right virtues that mesh . This isn’t just works hard . This could be a variety of things. Like how they react to blunt criticism, or the genera demeanour around the team. The storm do the same thing by the way .
How many elite talents do they sign at the peak of thier cost cycle ? Zero. They retain their own using TPAs , thus their inflated salary cap.
Also on that note . An easy way to police TPAs. Have a luxury tax if you go over a set amount . ( this is a few paid to the remaining 15 clubs . So if you go over , you owe each club 100k . So in essence if the luxury threshold is 500k , to go over the salary cap by 500k through TPAs , it actually costs you 2 million . It would be a huge deterrent for most .
Explain to me what his plan is. It should be to make the finals and win a comp. But he also needs to execute it. Is replacing Thompson (who is a bad fullback) with AJ (who is better but not by much) going to achieve that plan? One would think not. Juniors is nice and all but there's a heap of uncertainty there as well as a decent amount of time before that yields results.
I'm not overly worried about our forwards, I think they're not too bad. I think our backline is really poor and I think not having a specialist hooker is a recipe for disaster. Going into the season with Walters (who isn't a hooker) and Reynolds (who is a terrible hooker) is not good enough and to be honest, illustrates very poor planning.
