He looks pretty skinny for a forward. I thought he was a 5/8th when I saw his video! Good luck to him on debut! Smash em

He’s over 100kg now he’s a big boy

I don't get the fixation on player weights.

Physics.....If a 95kg player hits you at 30km/h, vs a 110kg player hitting you at 30km/h, you will understand "the fixation".

What nonsense. If the player was a homogenous rubber cube and you were a brick wall then yes, it's all about mass and velocity.

But people aren't built like this. For starters the weight is not evenly distributed over the body. Secondly, there are the individual physics of limbs and body parts. If a 110 kg player hits me at 30 km/h on his gonads or his skull, he's going to be the worse off.

Thirdly, point of collision matters, i.e. technique. Trevor Gillmeister had a playing weight of about 90 kg but used to kill blokes in defence, because that is about technique and not pure weight. Georgie Rose was often playing at over 120 kg, and decently effective at times, but was no hitman enforcer iron shoulders. And what was Georgie Rose's top speed anyway? 30 km/h is a 12-second 100m.

Lastly weight is not power. 110 kg pure exercised muscle is not the same as 110 kg of flabby muscle or 110 kg of lard. Imagine slamming into me at 30 km/h with 110kg of jelly, and I'd probably burst straight through it. But certainly don't throw a 110 kg brick at me.

Great post, except for the "flabby muscle" part, but I get where you were coming from. Muscle is muscle, it is not flabby.

Yes flabby is a bad term, I meant it as fat on muscle, or size including fat. But not all muscle is equivalent, it is definitely trainable per unit size.

Victor Radley is probably best hitter in the game atm and he’s not 110

He is your prototype player for the new rules...also did okay under the old rules

As the commentator said during t he game - "Victor the Inflictor"

Basically a small Gilmeister.

The Cam Murray types that can switch between an edge or the middle are the future of the game ....throw them behind some effective big boppers with huge motors and you have your forward packs

None of our bench forward really had much impact but I don’t think Madge will change a winning team

Chee Kam would probably kill it under the new rules but with both back rowers playing 80 he’s probably not needed

I thought he was better than Lawrence and Clark tbh. Especially given it was a debut. I'd go with him again and if we need to bring a Musgrove or Chee-Kam into the side it'd be at the expense of the other two names I mentioned not Seyfarth. I'd like to see Blore soon though.

In reality your bench forwards will need to rotate every couple of weeks to ensure you dont have blokes coming in off 6 weeks of not playing with no NSW cup. I'd say we will see Eiso and Musgrove rotate with Clarke and Seyfarth and also CheeKam rotate with Lawrence as well plus prob a couple of others as well

All teams need to work out what bench players suit the new faster game. A running dummy half that can cover in the halves, 2 props and a 2nd rower that can cover lock or centre looks ideal.
If Grant can play for 80 min, give Walters a shot at 6 for the last 20 min, Benji can go harder for 60 min.

Didn’t do anything of note which tonight wasn’t good or bad, probably a performance you expect from him TBH. He will be better for the run.

I could be mistaken but i think he missed read the play Kennedy scores before the break. Looks big but didn't look ready to me

I thought Benji was out of position and moved in instead of sliding.

Seyfarth was OK for a young kid on debut spent the majority of the time defending made 19 tackles in his 25 minutes missing only 1 ..pretty good contact too..didn't get much of a chance in attack made over 50m in 4 runs tho..
