One hundred billion galaxies, each with on average a hundred billion stars, each with their own planetary systems. There could be countless intelligent civilisations across the universe. Just because we haven't heard from them, it doesn't necessarily mean it is not there. The distances between us and the neighbouring galaxies are in the millions of light years which mean communications would take immense amounts of time to reach us. We might also be among the first series of intelligent life springing up across the universe.

We won't know for quite a while. We'll need to go looking across our own solar system first for simple/complex life before we start worrying about traversing the galaxy looking for other life as we don't have the means to get there in any reasonable amount of time. I'd be interested to see what lies under the surface of Enceladus, that may hold the answers.

So that's depressed me . Could be countless intelligent civilisations and here I am stuck on this one.

Given how backward humans can be at times I believe it gives credence to the thought that we could be the first iteration (and highly fault plauged,) of intelligent life.

So like a beta test? if so where can I log the faults?

It's an autolog mate. Evolution and physics will sort it out.
