We love to let players hit contract years lock them up before November. I don’t buy this story. If true make him stay and don’t release anyone until their contract ends.

Don’t understand why we’ve let everyone stay unsigned past November 1st. Just opens the door for other clubs to steal them away from us

We have been doing this forever. Players have to want to stay to sign before they are free agents. That’s been our problem for a very long time. They stay for an opportunity and once a good first grader they leave.

So frustrating. It’s a never ending cycle

I sense this is nonsense to be fair. Aloai has been given opportunity and looks like a happy camper. It makes zero sense we would not upgrade him. No other team can therefore he can’t earn as much leaving. It’s come out now that Fox has been taken off the table managers know Tigers have money to spare. I’d be shocked if we can’t retain players.

With all these young talented players that we’ve managed to obtain along with our own promising junior’s, surely Josh see’s the future is looking very promising for the WT.

And to add to that I’m sure that we will manage to jag a key signing or 2 over the next 12/18mths (as we will have the money to do so) and all of a sudden it’s a whole new ball game for the WT.

So why would anyone who has put in so much blood sweat and tears over the last couple of years want to leave just as the future is looking so bright for the WestsTigers?

We unfortunately have a history of letting players like this go to Manly. Paseka, Taupau.

Honestly would you blame him if he did decide to leave ...actually that goes for all of them now ...if they don't want to stay it's for a very obvious reason and I'm past blaming players egos , one reason ...

Madness if true

At the 15 other NRL clubs it would be...

Take the emotion out of it. Aloiai is a middling prop in the NRL, we’ve given him a handful of years to become that player. We hold the cards here. Tell him what he’s worth (around 500K IMO) and move on. There’s other props out there for that money, he’s hardly big Papalii.

Such a disparity to how fans feel about their club to how players view it. They can pledge their alleguance to a club like changing shirts - and they do. The modern game is about generating as much wealth out of it that you can. Just the way it is.

Maybe he's getting sick of "there's always next year" "futures bright blah blah"
Maybe he wants this year, now

Do not pay overs we have front row depth
Stefano twal mikaele tamau
even tolman on a cheap deal would be a good signing

The moment you mentioned Tolman gave the game away.

Pom said 2 days ago that he and Noffa were close to new deals, so take that FWIW. Don’t get me wrong, I like Josh, but I do feel he gets overrated a bit on the forum, due to the fact he’s one of our own.

I think he was fantastic this year but comming of a second knee injury hopefully he has as much impact next year

He always speaks very highly of the club and the direction it’s heading in his interviews I carnt see him going anywhere

Angus Crichton, Jake Friend, Isaac Liu, Brett Morris, Josh Morris, Billy Smith, James Tedesco, Daniel Tupou, Sitili Tupouniua, Sam Verrills, Sam Walker Corey Allan, Braidon Burns, Dane Gagai, Keaon Koloamatangi, Latrell Mitchell, Adam Reynolds, Bayley Sironen, Jaydn Su'a, Tevita Tatola Matt Burton, Kurt Capewell, Stephen Crichton, Mitchell Kenny, Spencer Leniu, Jarome Luai, Josh Mansour, Tyrone May, Brent Naden, Isaah Yeo Josh Addo-Carr, Dale Finucane, Jahrome Hughes, Nicho Hynes, Brenko Lee, Isaac Lumelume,

That's just the Rorters, Storm, Pamfers and Souff's....All those players can be signed for 2022 by another Club and negotiations can be entered into..

The range is 10 players to 17 players off contract in 2021 across all Clubs..Wests Tigers have 13 of which probably 3 including Josh would be a priority..

You can’t force players into signing before November 1. They have managers advising them to test themselves on the market. And that’s fair enough.

The only forward that would burn me if we lost him is Twal. The rest are expendable, even Lucy imo. Except mighty Angus. Once we sign him to a multi million dollar, 4 year deal.

Would much prefer to lose Twal over Luciano. LL was in our top 3 best players this year, Twal (although having a few injuries) would've been down amongst Reynolds, Packer etc. He needs to have a huge 2021.

Big difference between them and us. They’re the best teams In the competition they have a much bigger chance of holding onto players than us.

I’d be surprised if Aloiai went anyway.

Plus all those teams have already re signed players that are in that list. We’ve not re signed 1, obviously different scenarios but we haven’t even kept McIntyre yet.

old i know just throwing a name out for cheap really but more so I don't think we should pay overs for Josh A

It seems to me that most players these days have on over inflated idea of their worth. No doubt driven by their managers hence more players seem to be holding off re signing before testing the market. The days of signing on for loyalty are long gone. Except if it's easts.
