Aloiai

So if the dollars are correct he will go for similar money to what Taupau took for the same move, once you factor in the cap, inflation etc...

This is a tricky one but if we can't find someone of equal quality then we have to think long and hard before bidding him farewell.

I don't think there is any advantage of going to Manly for Josh there a bottom 8 team as well without Turbo on the field.

If it's in relation to more $ well as long as we are not paying over's in comparison to current roster. Like Josh but in reality we have some good forwards also now on our roster, its our backs and speed that we need to improve on with our Roster.

We all know we need a good long term fullback with speed.

If it’s 700k that’s massive money. Demand a player in return Schuster and release if not he plays out next season and then links with the Eagles. Storm just educated us .

Only prop I pay that for is NAS, Payne Haas or Fisher Harris.

I’m all for releasing Aloiai if it means we get someone like Taupau or Paseka in return

Somehow I doubt manly will be happy to do that

young family, probably the biggest contract he’ll get offered in his career. Stupid money from manly if true but you’d understand if he took it to set himself up for life

At worst he’d probably upset a few fans which I’m sure he wouldn’t really care about

They won’t come back here...

Why? Chairman Lee said we were a destination club, a ‘glamour club’.

I don’t blame him for wanting $700k.... is he worth it?, no .....but he looks to his left and sees we are paying Packer $750k and all he does is play jack.....I’d be dirty too

I say good luck if he wants to move on in relation to higher $ let Manly pay overs not us. Good footballer but we never made the 8 with him playing for us.

Definitely overs but like above poster said it must be frustrating seeing a bludger earn 700k coin for putting in no effort at all, while you bust your gut on less than half

The guy has had off season knee surgery every year he’s been in grade with us aswell

We love to let players hit contract years lock them up before November. I don’t buy this story. If true make him stay and don’t release anyone until their contract ends.

Don’t understand why we’ve let everyone stay unsigned past November 1st. Just opens the door for other clubs to steal them away from us

Seen Pascoe fishing down Sussex inlet in October, told me JAC was 100% done. Aloiai and Nofa he said were true clubman, would never consider leaving us. Told me he really likes that Mansour, real quick and can jump like a frog. Also said a really tiny unproven fullback would be a great fit for us.

Of course this is all rubbish but to answer your question, we are totally rudderless in a boat race against luxury yachts.

If the CEO is making comments like this and the deal is not done it shows delusional. JAC that did not work out and Mansour well another player that adds nothing to our current roster. Youth is the policy we need to adopt with a few old heads that we already have and signed like Tamou.

Starting to wonder if its time to move Pascoe on but won't happen until the Centre of excellence is completed.

This was a completely made up story to make a point about what Pascoe was doing in October. On leave.

How he walks into work today with any confidence in his ability to do his job I don’t know!

We have been doing this forever. Players have to want to stay to sign before they are free agents. That’s been our problem for a very long time. They stay for an opportunity and once a good first grader they leave.

So frustrating. It’s a never ending cycle

I sense this is nonsense to be fair. Aloai has been given opportunity and looks like a happy camper. It makes zero sense we would not upgrade him. No other team can therefore he can’t earn as much leaving. It’s come out now that Fox has been taken off the table managers know Tigers have money to spare. I’d be shocked if we can’t retain players.

With all these young talented players that we’ve managed to obtain along with our own promising junior’s, surely Josh see’s the future is looking very promising for the WT.

And to add to that I’m sure that we will manage to jag a key signing or 2 over the next 12/18mths (as we will have the money to do so) and all of a sudden it’s a whole new ball game for the WT.

So why would anyone who has put in so much blood sweat and tears over the last couple of years want to leave just as the future is looking so bright for the WestsTigers?

Maybe he's getting sick of "there's always next year" "futures bright blah blah"
Maybe he wants this year, now

At Manly? Maybe they have told him this is our year...blah blah

Maybe they did... Or maybe it's just coin

It's always coin.

Even though I like the guy and enjoy watching him play, business is business.

If he gets a good deal financially and we walk away with some compensation from Manly, I can't see any problem with it.

First read about this on Clarkey's page this morning and it seems Fox have done what they always do and source their breaking news from other sports pages and fan forums. Hard to imagine him leaving and heading to Manly unless he's already been told he's not really part of Tiger's future plans. He's for sure a decent prop and had prob his best season so far but hardly a game breaker so if Manly are throwing big coin and a long term deal at him he'd be stupid not to consider/take it.

I believe that's what Madge will do

Seems he works out a players value and may move a bit but if they want more it's end of discussion and good luck on your new career

Pom said 2 days ago that he and Noffa were close to new deals, so take that FWIW. Don’t get me wrong, I like Josh, but I do feel he gets overrated a bit on the forum, due to the fact he’s one of our own.

"overrated a bit on this Forum" :100: agree @GNR4LIFE
Plus as @BAGNF05 said he's a middling prop and should be on middling $$$ which imo is less than 500k as he stated.
