Aloiai

Sick of contracts being a waste .
Clubs, players and player managers all at fault . It’s not one sided as clubs try to offload players all the time .

Lee’s solution they can’t go elsewhere on higher wage can be worked around ,

Solution is simple any contracts signed and registered must be enforced by the NRL.
If a club wants to offload player or player agitates for release the following to occur
- the existing contract with same club remains under the cap PLUS under the cap goes whatever they are being paid by new club ( if they try do a GI or Sam burgess type release , or they send them packing to super league then double the contract goes off the cap)
- new club off there cap goes what they are paying player and whatever contract they were paid from the original club

This will ensure integrity of contracts as both existing and new club can’t afford a contract not to be hounred as they get penalised on salary cap and effects their squad.
Players won’t be able to agitate for release as they know a new club won’t put their cap out of whack

Will also put an end to these stupid long term contracts or stupid money thrown around to kids like suali who is currently with Souths and signing with roosters

For good measure I would bring back the old June deadline , contracts have become a big joke once they got rid of it

We're trying to get blokes to come here that have contracts for next year elsewhere. Everyone does it, some better than others.

And his "mate" spun the line that the deal with Manly was nothing like figures being currently talked about.

Who is his "mate?"

Tiga4eva - has become very quiet.

Suspiciously quiet IMO. Noticed something 2 days ago. @tiga4eva when asked by avocadoontoast if Aloiai is leaving, Tiga4eva's response was........"I’m not sure, but I seriously doubt he ***ever wants to pull our jersey on again***. He’s still contracted for 2021".

Curious turn of phrase, strangely prophetic? #ratintheranks?

EDIT: Just noticed @needaname had already made this observation. I was a bit late.

Here's a thought......Maybe @tiga4eva is Josh!!!! Da Na!!!!!!!!!!

His profile shows that he has been here since 2009.
if he had only been here since a lot more recently I would suspect he could possibly be Josh.

I would like to point out that Tigers are very front-foot about this issue, and I think it's a good thing.

I've already seen several people slagging off Lee for talking in the media, but when these issues occur, it's important that the club puts an official voice out there. The alternative complaint I've seen is that the club doesn't challenge negative stories enough.

It used to be Pascoe doing most of the talking, and he was harrassed for it by fans as well.

Specifically with Josh, Tigers got wind of the full story and have clearly gone public, both with information to their preferred paper (SMH) and Lee going on the radio. Takes the wind out of Josh's sob story and sets our narrative first, before all the social media toxicity starts to make up fiction.

Very evident Tigers have given Chammas not just access to Lee, but inside information including salaries and text messages from the player.

True test will obviously be whether or not we stand firm a la Storm.

This will be a good test for PVL, as he said that he was sick of players breaking contracts to sign elsewhere for higher salary.
We might see if he has any balls.

Make him stay pls Mr chairman. No better advertisement for your legal firm than enforcing this contract. Make him stay.....

He has to stay unless we let him go...

That last paragraph of Chamma’s article, thats a good respectable look on us for once. Onya Chammas

He’s articles about WT always have a positive slant and Read - Australian also gives us a fair go.
Unlike what we get from Telegraph and Fox media outlets.

As far as Aloiai .... my view is if we get a suitable player in return then please don’t let the door slam on the way out.
If not we need to escalate this issue, like our Chairman has mentioned, for the NRL to take up and make sure that they put in place a process penalties for these sort of contract tantrums by players and their managers.

Agreed. Josh Alolai, you are staying.
You can play reserves, not take the field and see out your contract.

Even if it means we field 16, while you intend to reneg on the contract you play reserves. You sign 2022 Or Manly swap you with Marty or Curtis, sure. You can take the field.

We are the hardest club in the league to support. Can’t remember a year without drama can’t remember a year making finals it’s so crap so sick of it

Also notice we don't have players crying at their current clubs to be release early to join us Aka Matterson..... If only JAC could do this we would be in a good place now..

Well Stefano wanted to but Parra dug their heels in.

God get it right.
Yes we do it but “With permission” from their existing clubs to negotiate.
Can you get that this is not the case here???
