I can see that players will need to be ‘given’ points for best and fairest from now on.

Seems getting only 1 point has really upset Josh.

I fear we might lose a few more players because there must be a few who didn’t score even 1 point all year.

Made me lol when I read about the 1 point. Fiasco

I want to know how Packer got points in every game he played..that comeback game where he played 13 mins had 1 run and got sent to the sin bin then suspended for 2 weeks was a ripper..

Packer is obviously well respected amongst the playing group

This off season is getting better and better

🤑🤑

It’s been entertaining. Last years off-season was full of hope that eventually went pear shaped whereas this off-season has been a dumpster fire from the outset.

I watch every game Mrr. Russell
Let's look at Mr. McIntyre's last 4 games (when he should've been at his best)

Round 16 v Penrith - 53 mins, 7 runs only 37 metres. 39 tackles but he missed 6! WORST IN TEAM.
Round 17 v Manly - 33 mins. 7 runs 65 metres. Only 15 tackles buT 2 INNEFECTIVE.
Round 18 v Rabbits- 38 min. 8 runs 64 metres. 23 tackles but 2 MISSED. WORST OF THE FORWARDS.
Round 19 v Melbourne- 14 mins. 0 runs! 12 tackles 1 MISSED.

Bloke was defensively weak passenger and a plodding passenger in attack. Just as he was every game he played for the Magpies. He's not up to first grade.

Stick to your stats, I'll stick to watching the game.

I'll see him hurt players, I'll see him hit the ball loose, God knows what you will see.

I’m different to most on here, I don’t give a flying stuff about some of our players leaving. They were part of the team that got flogged in every game for the last 10 weeks.

I reckon more should be let go.

this sentiment is growing on me DAILY.....these players have done nothing for this club for how long now?....

don't wanna be hear? then see ya later.

Does he want participation points? Everyone gets a ribbon.

Can someone please tell me a little more on contract negotiations?
I'm very disappointed with what I've read on here but would like to understand the process more, so basically want to know if Hartigan's recruitment procedure is under the club's directive or not.

I suppose it goes something like this ...
We want you at the Tigers next year and are willing to meet your pay demands.

Who are you... Wests Tigers? No, I want 20% more.

Ah, OK we will up it to 20% more. All good?

Sorry your coach is Michael Maguire? Another 20%!

Mmm, alright another 20% it is then. Sign here please.

Wait, my manager agreed to terms at Souths for 40% less because they are a really good team full of good people. Sorry.

Thanks was actually hoping someone knew if we have a certain policy and what it normally entails. Things like, whether time limits are enforced based on individual players and their priority to club, as such. Or what time is usually afforded in negotiation proceedings. Those type of things.
I understand people might not be privy to this type of information(with WT) but thought perhaps someone had some personal experience or knowledge of it.

Ok this is a big "IF" but if it is actually Josh's mate that is plastering the contract negs everywhere and Josh has knowledge of this, he can go i wouldnt want him decent player not irreplaceable.

On the other hand it could just be a person with issues and Josh has no knowledge at all therefore carryon as usual.

Seems to be a bit of info in the McIntyre thread aswell. I initially thought it could be player managers.

Whilst Josh is highly regarded by a number of supporters a couple of Questions need to be asked
Is he a super star player? NO
Is he an injury prone player ? YES
Is 10% increase fair offer considering our Hamstrung SC situation ? YES
Is he irreplaceable as a player? NO

Has he actually signed with Manly yet or are we just assuming he will?

Thats the key issue!!
We cant recruit ANYONE in their prime of any quality without paying significant overs
We need to consolidate the few good ones we have, even if it means paying a premium
Its a really thin market as weve discovered

There are any number of players out there with the same ability as Josh.

This sounds pretty funny in context. I don't want to lose Aloiai. The Packer and Reynolds signings have killed us though. I mean I bet all the players look up to those guys. That's where I'd want to get too as well.

Agree. Blokes in their prime are out of our league unfortunately.

For mine, we should be paying overs for Burton on a long term deal? It’s not without risk, but it’s a better strategy than not having one. Or being a pension scheme.

I’m confident Burton can win you NRL games and wins will help solve that key issue.

Spoke to Josh today and showed him what I posted. He said it was fine and he’s not embarrassed by it because it’s all true. He also said if the Club feel they’ve acted appropriately then they shouldn’t feel uncomfortable about it either. For those honestly doubting the club implementing these deadlines etc, feel free to meet me at a home game next year and I’ll show you the correspondence between Josh’s management and the club. I’ve been a member of this forum for over 10 years, I’m not one to make things up.

How much is overs ? I mean 500k is a big chunk out of your salary cap. We've got players delivering close to nothing on more than that.
