Always room for improvement....

After tonight's great performance, what areas do you think JT and his staff will want to work on this coming week?

Defence as usual.
I'm getting really worried about Sue. He comes up with a couple of really bad defensive reads most weeks. I'm starting to think he may not be a guaranteed starter anymore.

Our edge defence. Moses, kev and Nofa still have no idea, a whole pre -season and 0% improvement.

Idris is not 1st grade ready. Bring in JJ and get Idris match fit in reggies.

Just back from the game and I really do not want to bag any individual as it was great effort, but Idris looked two yards off the pace of the game, don't get me wrong he looked trimmer than I have ever seen him, but he looked to be really plodding with the ball

He reminded me of tony williams, massive body but no grunt in running. Idris was a major disappointment. Turn him into a forward and tell him to run straight and hard. No way is he centre material.

Theres a ton of improvement to be had.

Defense and patience. Souths were down on luck. Lets be honest. They shouldn't have been allowed to score 18

True. Souths were crap tonite.
Can't wait til next Sunday to see a real test.

lol was waiting for we only won cause the opposition was crap posts…unexpected quarters though..

Souff's were only as good as Wests Tigers let them...the last 12min showed that...

Covering the sweep on the RHS defence. A couple of breaks there where centres and wingers were marking up on their men but the bog standard sweep play was creating an overlap and making them look terrible. Someone needs to take charge and call numbers on that side and we need to have the players backing each other to make one on one tackles.

Idris looked a bit disappointing to me and I didn't think Kev offered much either. Grant I didn't think had a lot of impact but I see he played long minutes so that's to be expected. Aloiai needs more minutes and we should not be wasting so many interchanges on the back line.

Souths will be a bottom 4 team this year, so we had no choice but to win tonight if we are to do anything this year. And we did. Penrith are going to be a whole other beast next week.

Souths were poor and hamstrung by a bloke on one leg for half the game yet still crossed the stripe 4 times.
Defence is the obvious answer.
Decision making could also improve a fair bit.

Souths were terrible however, there were some real positives tonight.

Mcilwrick was good from dummy half and has to play big minutes until Liddle comes in off the bench. He is way better than Ballin at this stage of his career. Suli was great for a rookie and will only get better, fitter, faster and stronger as the season goes on.

We have been on the case for some time but MCK is the best centre at WT and its not even close. He could develop a powerful combination with Suli. Ava looked every bit a starting prop my word he goes hard and ET did the dirty work as a ball-playing defensive lock. I thought Brooks and Moses were good and Tedesco is close to the the best player in the NRL.

Idris is not ready has to play NSW cup for at least a month and could be a weapon late in the season but for now we are better served with Masters, Paseka or Fellise off the bench. Littlejohn was okay but Middle would be great off the bench.

Michael chee Kam has to play all year and develop in first grade he is a gun.

Defence in every area not just edges

Cook found us out with his speed from dummy half , and Sue when isolated is going to struggle with quicker players

When we don't control the speed of the ruck we look like we are going to be split at any moment

Idris coming off a two year layoff and underprepared bc of recent injury. Just needs time to find his feet.

Sue is better suited at prop And will shift there once josh has the minutes under his belt.

It's about time we had a rookie come in and look comfortable, not since Nofoaluma (product of sheens system) has someone strode in and looked ready. It's a credit to the system being developed by jt and co.

As most have said the defence needs far more work but i am sure nobody is surprised by that.It has been our achilles heel since inception

Considering how much they were talking him up for "training the house down" earlier
He's a long way away from being fit. With Souths down to 15 players and Inglis being nothing but a passenger for all but the first 15 minutes. Idris , when he came on fresh ,should've been able to run amok even if he only did it for 10 or 15 minutes.
He certainly plodded big time last night.
Still as lazy as ever.
Not sure why some criticised Suli for a few mistakes? For who only has two NYC games for experience. He was terrific.( especially when compared with his predessessor)
Right side defence , at least in this game was still crud.and will be a liability from next week on , unless fixed.

Taylor was pretty clear this week that it would take him some time to build up to what he's capable of. He might have trained the house down, but they maintained the whole time that he would be a slow burn.
