An incredibly poorly coached team...

Madge has probably done himself no favours by trying to control too much. Apart from say a Bellamy, Bennet or Robinson, most teams going places need some younger assistant coaches with a good feel of the modern game and rapport with the playing group.

I think Madge tries to control too much and lacks a quality assistant coaching team. Guys like a Ciraldo or Fitzgibbon really important to their teams.

We have really poor structures and Madge needs some quality coaching support if he ends up staying. He needs to embrace the support, as well.

I don't think the club will sack Madge to be honest, especially if they have no one lined up. I think their next step is to tap the assistants on the shoulder and say see you later. Give Madge 2022. If nothing changes well then It is see you later for Madge as well. That's how I see it playing out.

We had the ball on their line for four sets and even I, sitting at home, knew what our plays would be. Hit ups near posts, one short ball for a backrower, kick. Rinse and repeat. **Zero variety all season.**

Defensively we have had no line speed **all season**. Defensively we have been vulnerable in the same spots **all season**.** Every opposition team knows it.

We have been blown out of more games first 30 mins than any Tigers team in history. Not ready, not prepared. Lots of our points have come when games are dead and opp has stopped caring. First 30 is the key and we have not been ready way, way, way too many times to make a case for keeping the coach.

Those who want to keep the coach are basically just doing so based on what came before him. Essentially, "the chef can't cook...but let's not remove him as the restaurant was no good before he arrived".

Rather than, "maybe getting a chef who knows how to prepare food 'might' actually help with the quality of the meals".

I doubt we sack him as it is too late and there is no window left to recruit now. We should just buckle up and get ready for rock bottom in 2022 probably. But there is no real denying anymore that this team is really, really poorly coached.

People will jump on and say "but he does not miss tackles or lack energy or come up with dud play after dud play in opp 20"...

But getting players to improve in all those things are his job.

Anyone who can't see it by now...well, all power to you.

**It will be a long off season, but we will all be back for 2022. Let's hope things change.**
Can this team of absolute idiots just f offthank you im done.
Useless pigs.

He actually essentially blamed injuries and our "11 players out" for today's performance. Unbelievable.

Dogs had guys who may well never play NRL again, and more out than us...and had won twice all year...and have no attack...and rookies in their spine...

Madge is doing the worst thing possible now. He is acting in self preservation, rather than doing what is best for the team and players. He takes zero accountability.

Unbelievable. That will do me for 2022.

Have a nice break....but understand that the team today had fringe RESERVE GRADERS playing....if AD ,Laurie Mbye,JTJ,BJ,AJ had played it would at least had NRL and rep players playing...big difference...its what happens when you only have kids and ressies as back up...

We were playing the worst team in the comp that ha only won TWO games all year.

That point seems lost on the Madge lovers, the Dogs concede over 30 points a game, we were camped on their line for 4 and 5 sets and couldn't score a point

agree, but I doubt the gameplay was inside balls and kick to the big guy. playmakers look at what's happening and make it happen. Benji would have got us points today and a win. But we went for Brooks

Wrong,Benji would just have been a massive hole to be exploited

at least we would have scored points against the puppies... they conceded 30 points a game and we scored how many?

development clubs have many many problems, especially with injuries and bad choices

I think Madge is the kind of coach that can get great players to play great, but he can't improve players. It's a shame, but I can't see him getting us out of this mess.

The good news is that the club's on a much better financial standing and ready for a new coach to come in.

Yep.. I think he can get the great players who like to hold themselves accountable to go up a notch. He can fine tune but I don't see him being able to motivate a sad sack of potatoes. They need to be coddled a lot.

Thank you madge for giving us a foundation to work with. We have elite juniors coming through and we have the next group of stars to take us to the next level ( Stefano, douhei, Blore, Laurie, tualagi.. etc). But unfortunately your job here is done. We will hire Flanagan or ciraldo to take us forward and get this team playing 2022 style football.

If we can keep Stefano during the off season, if I were him I’d do a runner

It was an internal stitch cup. Madge is gone. If only replacing him was the answer we would all be happy.

To a degree, but a good percentage of these players are learning their craft. You can't tell me that players coming out of Westfields arent good enough. Why are the same level of junior players doing so well at Manly?

Better seniors around them.

It’s the halves job to lead and adjust on the field.
We don’t have any… yet.

If there's a game plan involved with this mob I'd love to know what it is because they get a 1 out of 10 on execution most weeks.

yep and that has to be on the coach mainly.

That's definitely part of it.

I also think these kids are coached well on the Jnr ranks with more modern techniques. Techniques that Melbourne use, the Roosters use...techniques that develop players, not just put pressure on great players to deliver.

It’s over for Maguire 3 seasons and no success .. not removing him would be derail

Yes correct,if we had a decent playmaker and leader out there today it may have been different....

You mean the guy that was Dally M halfback of the year under Cleary who now looks like an Aldi Jack Littlejohn?

I upvoted, but Aldi sell very nice chocolate.

They do.:+1:

I honestly don't know where to start. You are all right. Madge looks like he only knows how to coach with Emotions, that doesn't work all the time and it must wear on the players. Brooksy honestly looks like he has never had any good coaching his entire career...?! What is going on? It is diabolical. It shouldn't be this hard. Its just not a good look. Wouldn't be surprised if Madge got sacked and so did Brooks. Dont know where that leaves us. Hardest club in the world to follow
