He actually essentially blamed injuries and our "11 players out" for today's performance. Unbelievable.

Dogs had guys who may well never play NRL again, and more out than us...and had won twice all year...and have no attack...and rookies in their spine...

Madge is doing the worst thing possible now. He is acting in self preservation, rather than doing what is best for the team and players. He takes zero accountability.

Unbelievable. That will do me for 2022.

Have a nice break....but understand that the team today had fringe RESERVE GRADERS playing....if AD ,Laurie Mbye,JTJ,BJ,AJ had played it would at least had NRL and rep players playing...big difference...its what happens when you only have kids and ressies as back up...

We were playing the worst team in the comp that ha only won TWO games all year.

That point seems lost on the Madge lovers, the Dogs concede over 30 points a game, we were camped on their line for 4 and 5 sets and couldn't score a point

Yes correct,if we had a decent playmaker and leader out there today it may have been different....

You mean the guy that was Dally M halfback of the year under Cleary who now looks like an Aldi Jack Littlejohn?

I upvoted, but Aldi sell very nice chocolate.

I’m feasting on some Moser Roth as I type this.

Mm the chilli one is so good

I honestly don't know where to start. You are all right. Madge looks like he only knows how to coach with Emotions, that doesn't work all the time and it must wear on the players. Brooksy honestly looks like he has never had any good coaching his entire career...?! What is going on? It is diabolical. It shouldn't be this hard. Its just not a good look. Wouldn't be surprised if Madge got sacked and so did Brooks. Dont know where that leaves us. Hardest club in the world to follow

Agree, Brooks is a good player that's underperforming massively.

So what are we gonna do when things don't go well with flanno or Paul Green or even Steve McNamara from Catalans sack them aswell ?

They have the most passive Defence I have ever seen in first grade.. they never pressure the man with the ball , they just run next to him and allow the ball runner to dictate the play… all game today they just allowed the man with the ball to decide when to pass, if you pass , they have negative line speed and feel that a kicker should be allowed all the time in the world to kick.. it is beyond pathetic, it is gross , it is sad ! Do they get told not to tackle the man with the ball until they decide what they intend to do … they literally ran next to a ball runner today until he scored and offloaded to a man that would count as a try assist . I have never seen anything so amateurish in first grade .. Madge must go, he has allowed this rot for fester for too long now and it is unacceptable! Pathetic

Basically what I've learned from this thread is we need to turn the place upside down and shake the shit out of it

Isnt that what we brought Madge in for and we are no better off 3 years in

Madge has to go , he has lost the players. The team has. Not improved at all in defence so either he has no idea how to fix it or he just ignoring it . The attack has gone south , it really looks like the players have said we can’t listen to ur crap any longer , it’s time to pull the plug can’t go through this shit again next year

Should we call up a coach from left field Freddy fitler? Mathew johns has spoken about his desire for him and joey to coach or what about the walker brothers?

I'd be looking at a John Morris, Cameron Ciraldo or Krstian Woolf type coach with Sheens performing a mentoring role

I think Madge needs help. It might make sense to bring skills coaches in to support the infrastructure around Madge. Madge is going to be a great coach in certain circumstances. Like when emotion is required to win a gf. Its just helping the team get there. The guys know what to do. They just dont know when to do it. Cant see many footy smarts out there. I would be for Freddy helping for sure

My honest thoughts on the entire madge situation move brooks on its better for both parties then give madge til mid year under sheens to improve if not than move him on and look at other coaches like sharks have this year

Not anymore he won't. Emotion is his only tool & the players are burned out by it.

They could not longer give a tinker's cuss and will not play for him

Why did we not get John Morris in our team as an assistant when he was avaliable

I feel the team is coached in a way where they just can’t relate.
We see the same issues every game, Madges press conferences are repetitious.
So these players we see take the field every week, making the same mistakes and bad judgements, is it on them? Or the Coach?
While generally a footballer should take the blame of his actions, the reoccurrences should come down to the coaching yeh?
I feel a good coach would see the errors in a game and focus on fixing them problems, currently, it’s safe to say, our issues re occur every game.
May seem like a step backwards but finding another coach could be a case of one step back and two steps forward.
Sadly, we’ve been down this road many times before.
The board also need to take a lot of the blame for the misdirection of the club.

Not sure if I'm a Madge lover or hater . . . but I sure hated what we all saw today.
One thing though . . . when we had 37 sets of 6 on the doggies line and not only couldn't we score . .. but we couldn't do anything creative in attack . . . these players are first grade footballers. They have been on the elite teams all their lives. The better players in the best teams.
If they can't score against the dogs . . . at the beginning of the last game of the year . . . with 20 tackles on their line . . . do we really think that they need to be coached as to what to do in that situation ?
Are we really blaming Madges coaching for that abysmal display of absolute zero flair and trickery 10m out from their line ?
And it's not just today. All year, we are bereft of ideas when attacking an opponents line.
If first grade footballers have to be coached in what they should do then . . . instead of it being instinctive . . . then put me in the "sack Madge" club too !

Honestly, I'd be open to Sheens as coach. He struggled towards the end, but Bennett has on a number of occasions and then found new success. I'm sure Sheens would be able to get us playing exciting footy. If we're gonna suck next year, we might as well be fun to watch.

Sheens as head coach and Morris as his assistant for a couple of years with the plan for Morris to then take over, similar to how Souths are planning with Bennett & Demetriou.

Also punt Brooks immediately. He's the worst halfback in the league. He was truly pathetic today without Doueihi or Mbye to help organise.

Not just head coach is the blame either the support staff of assistant coaches aswell need to be held accountable. wasn't Shane Millard also cut from souths because they believed the game was past him?

We had the ball on their line for four sets and even I, sitting at home, knew what our plays would be. Hit ups near posts, one short ball for a backrower, kick. Rinse and repeat. **Zero variety all season.**

Defensively we have had no line speed **all season**. Defensively we have been vulnerable in the same spots **all season**.** Every opposition team knows it.

We have been blown out of more games first 30 mins than any Tigers team in history. Not ready, not prepared. Lots of our points have come when games are dead and opp has stopped caring. First 30 is the key and we have not been ready way, way, way too many times to make a case for keeping the coach.

Those who want to keep the coach are basically just doing so based on what came before him. Essentially, "the chef can't cook...but let's not remove him as the restaurant was no good before he arrived".

Rather than, "maybe getting a chef who knows how to prepare food 'might' actually help with the quality of the meals".

I doubt we sack him as it is too late and there is no window left to recruit now. We should just buckle up and get ready for rock bottom in 2022 probably. But there is no real denying anymore that this team is really, really poorly coached.

People will jump on and say "but he does not miss tackles or lack energy or come up with dud play after dud play in opp 20"...

But getting players to improve in all those things are his job.

Anyone who can't see it by now...well, all power to you.

**It will be a long off season, but we will all be back for 2022. Let's hope things change.**

Tbh I’d be ok if the club and Maguire mutually parted way and appointed a caretaker for the whole of next season. And actually take there time and strategically plan their next move.
If it was me I would be approaching Trent Robinson on November 1st and offering him near a huge contract for 4 years. (Roughly 1-2 mil a season started from when he finishes up his current contract with the Roosters end of next season.

Madge is a compulsive liar who will be found out in the next couple of weeks.
