ANASTA, PETTYBOURNE & THOMPSON

With Gareth Ellis returning to England at seasons end and the current form of the Tigers pack (with the exception of Woods Galloway & Farah) I just can't see that these three players will add anything to the team?

All three are not that big and with doubt about the re-signing of Fulton and Heighnington where does that leave the Tigers for 2013? I have not been impressed with Anasata, Pettybourne or Thompson over the past few years playing for their respective clubs in the Roosters, Rabbits and the Titans. In fact I at times have never rated them worthy of being regular first grade players just more suited to the bench or NSW Cup though in fairness to Braith he has had his shining moments (but they are few and far between).

As for Murdoch-Masala I just don't get all the hype and his efforts in both attack and defence each week are ?????? If the above three are the only additions for 2013 and with the losses of Ellis, Tuquiri and possibly both or either of Fulton and Heighnington then I must admit if 2012 is considered average then I am concerned for 2013!

If Anasta and Thompson are not big humans, I think you had better go to OPSM or Spec Savers to name a few.

Yeah that's all fine Ned but who do you suggest we sign? People need to stop thinking player X is a replacement for Gareth Ellis. Ellis is one of the best back rowers in the world and an amazing player - there is nobody available to replace him. All we can do is get other players to play his position.

Just on BMM I thought he was really good against the Bulldogs.

They will all add something, Pettybourne in particular will be a good addition.

I guess there would be some decisions being made at the moment both with recruitment and retention and until we know who we are keeping, and who else we are getting its hard to determine just where we stand.

I reckon pettybourne should work out well. Not sure about thompson, he is in my wait and see basket. Depends on what role they are looking at anasta for. Id play him in the halves and look at possibly try sirro at lock or back row????

I'm happy enough with these signings so far. Hard to say until they start playing for us.

Pettybourne is a has a great ethic, the only issue of his I have is his ball security as he seems to spill his lollies a fair bit. Thompson will be a wet dream for Sheens as he can fill in both at centre and second row quite well.

I don't think we needed to sign Anasta, but perhaps we may see his best when he isn't expected to lead a team around the field? Even if he plays in the second row, it's still bloody handy to have another decent kicker on the payroll, especially if Marshall's radar is like it was on Friday night.

I would rather have one strike player the three stogges we signed, think we are going nowere this year wait till next year. with all the talent we have coming up all the the brass needed to buy was a strike frontrower or secondrower and a top class 1/2 back. but what do we get a 32 year old has been and 2 nsw cup players to replace ellis.
