ANASTA, PETTYBOURNE & THOMPSON

if we get lewis where are we going to play all these forwards?…I really hope Anasta was bought to play lock or 2nd row...and NOT 5/8...

Hopefully next year we will not see so many injuries to our pivotal players, and our kicking can be more liberaly shared between Marshall, Anasta, Farah and Sironen.

1\. James Tedesco
2\. Beau Ryan
3\. Chris Lawrence
4\. David Nofoluama
5\. Marika Koroibete
6\. Curtis Sironen
7\. Benji Marshall
8\. Aaron Woods
9\. Robbie Farrah
10\. Keith Galoway
11\. Adam Blair
12\. Luke Lewis
13\. Braith Anasta

14\. TIm Moltzen
15\. Liam Fulton
16\. Eddy Pettybourn
17\. BMM

Looks like a premiership winning side to me…..if we don't get Lewis we have Bell..

I still maintain Anasta was a knee-jerk reaction to our halves problems early on in the season. Bet management are kicking themselves now given the way Siro has taken to FG

even so, he brings leadership and direction to the forwards (assuming that's where he'll play)… something we have really lacked around the middle for a while. only need to look at the players who have really excelled around him in his years at the dogs and roosters to understand what an important player he can be.

Agreed, his leadership is a very attractive characteristic that we've missed without Payten in there. I think Lewis could provide something similar though. Ahh well, still looking forward to 2013!

I've always liked brith, ultra competitor, great leader. He blows up a lot but it's just showing how much he wants to win, not being captain here will help his game.

Pettybourne will play prop IMO, runs straight and hard.

Thompson is an interesting one, sheens has rated him for a while, couldn't cut it at the titans but they have a back row of 3 origin players and Cartwright often moved him around. Will probably be a fill in player, but great for depth

You have 4 players in the backline who have played a less than half a dozen first grade game between them .
Three of whom have played less than 40 minutes of top grade in total.
Plus three guys in the forwards who have never pulled on a jersey for us , and in the case of Lewis, may never do so.
I appreciate your optimism of it being a premiership winning side but think it's highly unlikely that team will take us to the title.

Sorry, just wanted to show what i wanted the side to be like.

From what's being talked about Lewis right now you might get him in your team - I hope so!
Who knows with the young guys - anything could happen.
Wouldn't mind seeing Grant kick on and get a shot too.

I really like the make-up of your side. The only thing I'd suggest is I'd start with either Moltzen or Blake in the centres for the first 4-6 weeks and have either Nofoluama or Koroibete off the bench.

Do we still have Utai in the side next year? Because I'd have him in the side too

I get the feeling Anasta was signed well before the announcement was made.

Cmon, realistically Utai hads to go now. We have Koro and Noa who are both much faster than Utai and both make strong runs to help out the forwards. They can also both jump in the air. I appreciate Utai and what he's done for us, but the choice of having an old guy or a young guy doing the same job we have to promote youth.

Or else what we get one more season from Utai and lose a promising player with maybe 10-15 years left in his career. That would be madness.

I actually quite like that side posted and by the end of next season it should be about right, but doubt sheens will start with teddy, koro and noa in the backline from the get go.

Our forwards and halves both lack leadership and a someone with leadership and patience. Hopefully Anasta can take control so benji can effectively only be invovled when throwing his magic cut out balls and not the rest of the crap he does.

Great post. As you said, the forwards and halves need leadership. Anasta will bring this, but I think that's what we may have been missing with Ellis out. Also, another reason Lewis would be a good signing.

if we get Lewis we will have 5 leaders in our side….One in the halves, one as hooker, two in the backrow and i consider Lawrence a leader...

I wouldn't go so far to say Lawrence is a leader. Maybe to the younger blokes…

But you're 100% right about the other four. If Benj, Faffy, Anasta and Lewis put their heads together, I'm sure magic would happen
