Andrew Fifita Vs Adam Blair

Fifita might get his chance at Skilled Park on Saturday when he plays for the Indigenous All Stars against an NRL All Stars outfit which includes New Zealand international Blair on a formidable interchange bench.

After six seasons with Melbourne Storm, Blair has joined Wests Tigers on a deal so lucrative the Tigers had to cut several players, including forwards Fifita and Bryce Gibbs, who have since joined Cronulla.

Gibbs and Fifita have made it clear they were not happy with the decision, with nine-year servant Gibbs saying the move was the last thing he wanted to do after signing a new deal with the Tigers

The Tigers also had an option on Fifita's services this year, but did not take it up.

Fifita, 22, is off limits to the media in the Indigenous camp, but said after last year's round 15 clash with the Storm that he had kept challenging Blair to run at him, but Blair kept offloading.

Indigenous coach Laurie Daley said he did not intend talking to Fifita about keeping his cool on Saturday.

"The All Stars game is always played in a wonderful spirit," Daley said. "The last thing we want to see is anything untoward going on in this game, or any game for that matter. I wouldn't see it being a problem. We want to play fair, give it your all, but not do anything that is over the top."

If Fifita doesn't get a hit on Blair on Saturday, he won't have to wait long for a re-match, with Cronulla and the Tigers drawn in the opening round at Leichhardt Oval on March 4.

It might be easy for Fif to get a hit on Blair because Blair runs straight however it could be difficult for Blair to get a hit on Fif unless he is prepared to run across field, could get very tiring for him.

Who writes this crap…. Blair is 5 times the player Fifita is!

Andrew might want to start by getting his meters, making his one-on-one tackles, work on his line speed and play for more than 7 minutes at a time....

The NRL condemes violence, but allows this tripe to be written in the papers?!

Only way that fifi will get a hit on Blair is if Blair play's in the centers with the way fifi runs sideways all the time!

I think the fact he is off limits to the media speaks volumes of his integrity and character. Muppet.

Stop giving the guy a wrap Underdog
Even a muppet know its limitations
Fifita doesn't
Blair will eat him for breakfast if Fifita brings it

I think if Fifita takes a bite Watto he will choke on it

Blair as we have seen won't muck around

Fifita likes 2 piece feeds Blair is a 21 pce bucket

Never liked Fifita, glad we offloaded him, always runs sideways, a lazy defender, never passes & just doesnt seem like a team player

Have to give credit, Fifita had a decent game last night.

I am really looking forward to round 1.

LOL@ Fifita…
Might not even get named in the team.
Blair would destroy him.

He didn't look out of place, but looked unremarkable. Made zero impact, and the only smashing that was done was by three all-star blokes in the tackle on the guy. He's been marked now by defenders and has lost his best ability since players now rush him in a group, and unless he finds another way to up his game and channel his aggression, he'll become another also-ran Prop.

I wouldn't get to carried away in critiquing Fifita's performance given it was only a glorified trial and his first game in 6 months

I heard he's stacked on some weight. Is that right?

Fifita or Blair?

Blair has never looked huge, and looks as he did at the end of 2011,

Fifita looked like he'd actually shed a few KG's…

Fifita went into the 2011 season at 110kg, news story about how he shed 10kg in the off season or something, and recently articles have listed him at 114kg saying he has been hitting the weights hard.
