Andrew Fifita

Is this a April fools joke! No hang on where in June, bugger me he would be flat out getting a run at another club, oh hang on again, he is going to the Sharks. Please, some posters on need to take their Tiger Goggles off and get fair dinkum.

fifita is well suited to origin football. Its enivetable as ricky stuart has talked about him on a number of occasions. maybe he is the flavour of the month. played all over blair yesterday.

Theses tough streets/jail/had no shoes stories are a dime a dozen.

Just once I'd like to see a player telling us how if it werent for Rugby League….he'd be playing the recorder in the Sydney Symphony Orchestra at the Opera house

While I know some of the members express doubts about the accuracy of NRL Stats, the comparison between Woods and Fifita for yesterday's game, shows:-

Aaron Woods 31 minutes 12 receives 12 runs (97m) 1 tackle break 13 tackles 1 error
Andrew Fifita 26 minutes 11 receives 7 runs (56m) 4 tackle breaks 13 tackles 2 errors

I have just gone through the tape of yesterday’s game again and Wood’s runs were straight and in the centre of the ruck. A lot of Fifita’s running was across field and wider of the ruck and of less effect for the team.
With all of the posturing by Fifita during the week, I would have expected a much more aggressive game from him. Looking at his last two games, I would find it hard to justify paying him $300,000 per year, so I would not stand in the way of the bucket of gold he has been offered.
Hopefully, the Club is in the position to retain the likes of BMM, Woods, Begovich and Groat into the future, as they may be better value at, initially, a somewhat lower price.

I am glaad you brought Woods' game up MightyMaggy. He was really impressive against a physical forward pack. Ran straigh at direct. He was hard to tackle and made space for the backs (when they weren't spreading it too early).

He really stood out and up yesterday.

There was a caller on 2SM talking sport yesterday and he made a good point, Galloway has never really come on as expected and keeps getting shunted from Rep Teams, do you think we made the correct decision in keeping big Keith Galloway and allowing Andrew Fifita to move on???

Actually he was pretty peeved and commented that he was disgusted in the player retention policy and wouldnt be renewing his wests tigers membership next year, how many people on this forum hold season tickets????

KG keeps getting injured, I think that is more the problem. Even considering that, at the moment he is a better player than Fifita.

Hopefully if we continue to be patient he will stay fit long enough to go to the next level.

KG is a great guy, but I agree.

I keep waiting for him to get angry.

Yes, correct decision IMO. Galloway just needs an uninterupted run of games to show his best. He wouldn't look out of place in the Blues jumper - i think injury has robbed him of making a push in the last couple of years.

Would have to agree. He would have played Origin last year had he not been injured.

He has been our best and most consistent forward this year IMO.

Sauce is the best prop we have at the moment… so yes!

I also believe Aaron Woods has much more potential than Fifita... so i'm comfortable in the decision.

i was actually thinking about this a couple of weeks ago. i know most people will say the decision is easy but galloway does get injured alot! i would have rathered us keep both + gibbs

We looked awful when galloway had a rest against storm he is kinda different to fifita he likes to run straight . Gotta remember alot of rep Front rowers play club footy with rep forwards in there pack KG has not had much rep standard help with the tigers . Kade snowden looks good at sharks he also has Jeremy Smith PAul Gallen Anthony Tupou helping him it helps . Galloway has Gibbs ?? Payten at the end of his career ? woods Developing ? looks little different .

x 3 Keefy ,Gareth and Rhino have been the 3 picks this year If Gall can stay on the paddock for say 22 weeks of a season it will help him so much as he will grow in confidence . Remember in 09 he played on with the foot injury regardless to try and get us to the semis

Its done now and truthfully I'm getting more comfortable with the decision.

I think that Galloway is a great player. I don't think he gets enough minutes and he gets injured too often but he does cart it forward. I think Woods looks similar to Galloway however his handling hasn't been crash hot.

Fifita may turn into the best player out of all of them. He can win a game by himself however he is also a flashy prop and doesn't have the consistent impact of a Galloway. Who knows how he will turn out. Maybe the best prop in the game. Maybe Daine Laurie mark 2.

I'm happy to keep the worker type forwards who get us on the front foot and let the backs and Robbie win us games.
