Andrew Fifita's smahing reunion with Adam Blair

ANDREW Fifita tried to smash Adam Blair at Leichhardt Oval in June last year, but the right moment did not present itself.
Fifita might get his chance at Skilled Park on Saturday when he plays for the Indigenous All Stars against an NRL All Stars outfit which includes New Zealand international Blair on a formidable interchange bench.

After six seasons with Melbourne Storm, Blair has joined Wests Tigers on a deal so lucrative the Tigers had to cut several players, including forwards Fifita and Bryce Gibbs, who have since joined Cronulla.

Gibbs and Fifita have made it clear they were not happy with the decision, with nine-year servant Gibbs saying the move was the last thing he wanted to do after signing a new deal with the Tigers

The Tigers also had an option on Fifita's services this year, but did not take it up.

Fifita, 22, is off limits to the media in the Indigenous camp, but said after last year's round 15 clash with the Storm that he had kept challenging Blair to run at him, but Blair kept offloading.

Indigenous coach Laurie Daley said he did not intend talking to Fifita about keeping his cool on Saturday.

"The All Stars game is always played in a wonderful spirit," Daley said. "The last thing we want to see is anything untoward going on in this game, or any game for that matter. I wouldn't see it being a problem. We want to play fair, give it your all, but not do anything that is over the top."

If Fifita doesn't get a hit on Blair on Saturday, he won't have to wait long for a re-match, with Cronulla and the Tigers drawn in the opening round at Leichhardt Oval on March 4.

be interesting to see what occurs here.
if some biffo happens, my money is on Blair to sort it out once and for all.

fafita is putting a very big target on himself for this game.

I saw Fifita try to smash people in the last Aboriginal knockout. Made for a few nice line breaks for the opposition.

Hopefully Gibbo talks to him for his sake. Otherwise there will certainly be an Omeley moment around the corner for young Andrew

Watch out, this will be a high light, well in the press anyways. I think Fifita looks the more solid of the 2 so he could come out second best but Blair has all the skills and is alot more focused for 80 mins.

To be fair to Fifita, there aren't any quotes from him here like there was after the Storm game last year. This is just the Telecrap trying to beat up a story

there was a number of silly comments, the one labelling Balmain a disgrace and hopes that Fifita can smash his for the Magpies

not sure what Blair has to do with an us v them mentality

Another article from or ordered by the Cronulla loving Rothfield. How many more articles about Cronulla can this vermin write?

Only read the first 3 comments. The time to complain about Blair is over. Yes its a shame that Gibbs and to lesser extent Fifta had to be sacraficed but sooner or later you have to move on

Hope Fifita bought a house…
He might need to wait a while yet!!
He'll have to catch him first....

Gawd its sickening isnt it???

Im assuming they are short on sponsors and ol mate is doin his best to get them coverage.

I didn't realise how much anti tigers pro wests supporters we have. It's time to move on.

I think this proposed rally has only lead to disharmony. Reading the comments of that story kinda prove it.

FYI im an ex- maggies supporter.

Gee I'll have to try and dig up some footage of this game from 2011 to see where both players were positioned in the context of the game, all I sort of recall is that it was a very close tight game.

Blair is professional enough to not let this peanut distract him. As for Fifita, we dropped him and won 9 straight at the end of last season.

I was there… I don't think fifita got that that long on the park to worry about smashing anyone!!
And TBH I heard Fifita was holding the Tigers to ransom because he got a bigger offer, In the end they told him to take it....

I'm just glad we don't have guys talking like this in the media any more.

Pro's like Adam Blair do their talking on the field.
