Andrew Ryan

Well here is A source… I have no idea on how reliable it is.

33!!!

I mentioned his likely signing last week after Sheensy let it slip(amongst other matters) at a luncheon. Unfortunately my post was seen as BS given it is out of Sheensy character, which may be right. I guess someone else has heard it too, however who knows until it is official

Here's my issue with signings like Andrew Ryan, Jason Moodie, Daniel Fitzhenry etc…..........when Sheens signs these types of experienced players, he gets really stubborn and picks them no matter how there form is. I have no issue with signing them, but the coach needs to swallow his ego IF the signing doesnt work out. But he stays solid with them at the expense of better players.....and thats what bugs me.

So NRL-Rumour - mill tweet read your post, tweet it ans zero tackle pick it up on their website whover the hell they are, and now we have a 3 page thread

If this does indeed eventuate I will be very angry about it, but I'll be only too happy to apologize to you blades.

Plz dont think I meant you were BSing, I didnt mean that just meant its not sheens style but if he did let it slip well then that tells us something else

2 pages, 36 posts, 0 links to sources. It's a WTF special!!

At least it's zero credible sources at this point in time.

I really admire Bobcat as a leader and find him very personable, but he really needs to finish off in the ESL if he wants to prolong his career. That said, if he is signed, I'll still cheer for him as loud as the others.

IMO Ryan was never that good to begin with. Always thought he was overrated. Never had much impact in attack and defensively he reminds me of Hindmarsh given that he seems to be the third man in on a lot of tackles that boosts his stats, but doesn't result in much impact on the field.

this could be a great signing ala scott sattler good for one year offers leadership for our pack which it is terribly lacking….i really like this signing if it eventuates (wink wink)

Barring the hindmarsh comparison I couldn't agree more hybrid, Andrew Ryan is a waste, we don't HAVE to use every cent of cap, with the new confirmed signings and upgrades I think the set is complete, please no Andrew Ryan

x 2\. We don't need another backrower either! 😕

Would be a really good 1 year signing I think.

- Experience - Tick
- Leadership - Tick
- Committment - Tick

He has all the things you need in a squad when you are bringing up a heap of young juniors who are all at least 18 months away from hitting their full straps - what a great mentor he would make for them
BMM, Woods, Groat, Begovich, Dwyer will all learn so much off a Bloke like Andrew Ryan

Has anyone else noticed the common thread with the new players we have signed - they all are known for being really professional blokes - which is just what you need with all the youngsters coming in. Also a lot of the blokes we let go aren't renowned for their professional attitude - Gibbs, Fifita, Moltzen

We are trying to build a new culture among our players and the signings of the likes of Blair, Reddy, Bell and perhaps Ryan is bringing in blokes who have that culture of being great professionals.

Also look at how many injuries this year in the forwards so out of blokes who have played first grade this year in the forwards we are loosing - Gibbs, Fifita, Payten, Flanagan and who knows whats happening with the Schirnack brothers.

We are replacing them with Blair, Bell , Groat, begovich and hopefully seeing further improvement from Woods, Dwyer, BMM but with that many young blokes you want some more experience and leadership and depth and Ryan would provide that - So all in all he would be a solid signing if its a real one

It's not all about what the bloke is doing on the field in basic stats (although his are still really good btw - making 51 tackles and 11 hit ups in a side that got smashed last Friday night) it swhat they bring to the club , especially ones with a heap of young forwards coming through. Who on here if they had a choice for who our young forwards learnt from next year would choose Bryce over Andrew Ryan and if anyone anwsers Gibbs then they are a fool

going to be interesting to see what is posted if this does become reality.

could it be that he maybe signed to counter act the loss of Todd Payten, and as mentioned previously to mentor the younger players.

in a similar role that Mark O'Neill did

if you guys are cranky at this…how do u feel about the possibility of jason ryles having talks with the tigers?

I'd have both Andrew Ryan & Jason Ryles on one year deals if they are costing us bugger all…

Ryles is a completely diferent kettle of fish Defensively still good and good go forward . Ryles is twice the player that Ryan is and 3 years younger . Ryles ticks boxes Ryan doesn't
