Very true.

Only a deranged, sadistic, evil madman would sign this player . . . . .

Bug - did you ever try to get Sheens into the sack.

Seriously the hatred against him in my opinion is a little over the top. There must be more to the story.

Your amongst friends - why not tell us what happened.

there has to be more to it Bug, its time to come clean and save yourself. Repent man….....do it now before its too late

Would be a really good 1 year signing I think.

- Experience - Tick
- Leadership - Tick
- Committment - Tick

He has all the things you need in a squad when you are bringing up a heap of young juniors who are all at least 18 months away from hitting their full straps - what a great mentor he would make for them
BMM, Woods, Groat, Begovich, Dwyer will all learn so much off a Bloke like Andrew Ryan

Has anyone else noticed the common thread with the new players we have signed - they all are known for being really professional blokes - which is just what you need with all the youngsters coming in. Also a lot of the blokes we let go aren't renowned for their professional attitude - Gibbs, Fifita, Moltzen

We are trying to build a new culture among our players and the signings of the likes of Blair, Reddy, Bell and perhaps Ryan is bringing in blokes who have that culture of being great professionals.

Also look at how many injuries this year in the forwards so out of blokes who have played first grade this year in the forwards we are loosing - Gibbs, Fifita, Payten, Flanagan and who knows whats happening with the Schirnack brothers.

We are replacing them with Blair, Bell , Groat, begovich and hopefully seeing further improvement from Woods, Dwyer, BMM but with that many young blokes you want some more experience and leadership and depth and Ryan would provide that - So all in all he would be a solid signing if its a real one

It's not all about what the bloke is doing on the field in basic stats (although his are still really good btw - making 51 tackles and 11 hit ups in a side that got smashed last Friday night) it swhat they bring to the club , especially ones with a heap of young forwards coming through. Who on here if they had a choice for who our young forwards learnt from next year would choose Bryce over Andrew Ryan and if anyone anwsers Gibbs then they are a fool

Great post, agree whole heartedly. I ve said this on here before. But Wayne Bennett when he signed luke priddis, said that the main reason he brang him to the club was to show the players what it took to be a prefessional footballer.

Andrew Ryan is also that guy, as is blair, and as you have said Reddy and Bell have a reputation for good work ethic. i remember one the parra coaches saying something about reddy being a coaches dream who never misses an assignment.

Given the young talent we have coming through, these guys could prove to be great role models.

Is this confirmed, the bloke who told me, said it was done (a journo, not sure of his source tho)

Am I in a time warp or something, I thought it was my birthday just a week ago and I'm certain that I wasn't born on April the 1st.
I don't want any ex Bulldogs to have anything to do with our club, why is his nickname Bobcat?.

Seen that site once or twice yoss…..there doesnt really seem to be anyone putting their name to it

Sounds like a clearing house for crap Ink…

It's like an ever decreasing circle - this site gets its info from a tweet from someone who may have overheard (or probably misheard something).

I'd be absolutely stunned if we signed him.

There is a reason it was posted under the "Rumours" section of the site though. I know the guy who does the site, he doesn't create rumours specifically to generate traffic. If he starts posting rumours as if its legit news, then there would be an issue.

Just heard a bloke from the Telegraph on 2KY say that we did make enquiries about Ryan but couldn't fit him under the cap. Thank God!!

Firstly .. I respect the WT passion but GO easy on the hate.

Ryan would be great for depth and Exp.. We have tons of juniors thatt would benifit.

His NRL drem team stats clearrly show that he works his butt off in Hitups and defense..

I would take him over Fults if given the chance..

You need to look past stats. How many meters does he make on those hit ups? Is he dominant in defense? Do his tackles sting? Can he bend or dent the line consistently?

The answer to all of these questions is no!

Andrew Webster on the BSB has declared this is just a rumour, tigers inquired (looking for a bargain I assume) but went no further as they could not get him under the cap

Some of you guys are quite naive. It's just a post from the twitter site which also had us signing Cronk and Dugan. Vast majority of it is rubbish, just like this one.

A. Ryan wouldn't particularly be a bad buy, as others said he brings more to the club than just onfield performance..
Ryles however is a busted, stupid mistakes and stupid penalties that's why Bennett got rid of him, maybe Sheens has done the same with booting Gibbs and Fifita too? Errors are just too costly to a rugby league team.
