Am thinking about getting one of these new touch screen tablets, they appear light weight and as efficient as my laptop, i need to upgrade so am thinking of getting the table. Any computer whizs here that can help with the dilemna of should i or shouldn't i…are they just as good as the laptops? better? or not worth looking at?

If you are going to be mobile a lot of the time, a tablet is a good idea. I have numerous friends with iPads who love them. If you're an android fan, the Samsung Galaxy Tab is worth looking at, but word is there is a new model a few months away.

I picked up an Iconia the on the weekend and I'm really finding it great so far still I don't think it is enough for a total laptop replacement. Worth checking out the whirlpool forums for alot more information. http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum/140

There are some new tablet models with dual capability coming out later this year, not sure of the exact timeframe. Android when mobile, Windows 7 when docked, very cool.

There are some pretty sexy windows 7 tablets out there by a Computer Hardware company called Gigabyte. They are truely fantastic devices, since they are as good as ive seen for a unit which truly sits between mobile phone and notebook.

That being said, they are generally a tad pricier, and don't have the "market" capabilities that android or apple have. (e.g - picking up apps on the cheap, etc…)

thanks guys, sounds like i should wait and see what this new model is with galaxy tablet, i am with telstra so they may be able to give me a deal :slight_smile:
