Each to their own, I don’t. Yes marketing, but music is poor trashy ’girl missed by, needs boy, girl not heard Bullshite!

It’s just a sad state of where the world is, and heading. I really fear for my kids.
At least the beetles were a movement a change in music direction. What’s Taylor but same old shit pop with no real substance, yet fan fair for this crap is unbelievable! Worse is the grown adults acting like glorified sheep trying to pretend they are still young and hip, pathetic.
In twenty years no one will play her music and she will never be revered as a music icon, just a sell out money maker!

I am a real music buff and appreciate examples from virtually all genres, other than country and that scream rubbish. I also have quite a deep knowledge of modern music, built over a long period of time, going back to the late 60s and up to the present day. Just to show I'm not a really conservative stick in the mud, I actually listen to a lot of contemporary material including alternative, electronica and hip hop. What I'm saying is that I have a trained ear and can appreciate what I believe to be quality music. Quite opiniated about it too! So, getting to the point, I really can't stand Taylor Swift's music for it's repetitive, whiney, sound and it's banal lyrics. And don't please get me on to the marketing aspect. What shallow, exploitive nonsense!

Not to mention legally winning the rights to her own music, remaking every song and out-selling the first lot by miles, the amount of money she donates, the way she runs her tours and the people she employs, and still, there's the rubbish she cops from people who are nowhere near as talented or generous her. Fair enough, if her music isn't to someone's personal taste, but the way she gets torn down, and still stands tall and produces popular, award-winning music, for decades, shows she's not a flash-in-the-pan, no talent celebrity. Oh, and for the record, I'm not a huge fan of her music. Give me 80s Aussie Rock any day.

Yes but this is a discussion about music Suzie, not whether she is a clever or kind person. She and her management are excellent marketers, I give them that. Aussie 80s music, hmm, I hope you're talking about Split Enz, Icehouse, Midnight Oil, Mondo Rock and Machinations, etc and not Cold Chisel or Australian Crawl!

Sorry Suzie,
I really respect your opinions on various matters especially football but not on Taylor. She is a country singer who sold out to pop to make more money. That’s hardly ethical and a proud moment.
Then she had the audacity to compare herself to credence in losing her ‘music’ the same as Credence did, no chance in the same planet as Credence as a talent. In the comparison she what lost her music for a few years John Fogerty lost it for like 30-40 years, hardly the same!!
Credence Clearwater will be remembered and marveled for generations to come, Taylor will not. Over glorified spice girls act in my opinion. As I have mentioned previously, respect her money making and manipulation of the general worlds less than smart people’s. But that’s about it.
Seriously haters got to hate, hate, hate. Hardly great insightful lyrics…
