Another Quick Forum Update

This is a perfect replication of a tigers offseason: lots of fluff talk, switch around the deck chairs, a few disillusioned with the boss have left, we get a few of the old boys back, everyone talks each other up and how those gone held us back, how we're creating a new era etc and then as soon as season starts we resume old habits and all the plans turn to shi...

All that can be avoided if we start winning.
It's the perpetual losing that makes us squabble.
10 years of it turned us all pessimistic and disillusioned.
It's only natural we turn on each other.

Quite like an empire... it will be rebuilt. Need some good news soon, before Christmas I’m hopeful of!

Hi everyone, another quick update from me.

As I said in my last update, following on the feedback received from a diverse range of stakeholders over the last 12 months, I've been conducting a systematic review of this forum and its context in the wider social media landscape. Suffice to say that things are constantly changing; when this site was setup twitter didn't exist and platforms like discord were a decade away.

It's fair to say that this place needs to respond both to the changing times as well as the nature of the discourse within online communities in an increasingly crowded landscape.

Work is going on in the background to take this place into the next decade and it's quite exciting to see what's happening. I'd also announce that the moderator team will be changing. While I can't announce the new mods just yet, I'd like to thank @willow, @cochise (and a couple of other mods who are no longer active members) for their service over the years. I think I speak for a great deal of you who have respected their valuable contribution as moderators and we look forward to them continuing to be an active part of the forum discussions for years to come.

As I mentioned above, I'm now looking to diversify the mod team, to put us in good stead for the coming years. If you'd like to be considered, please send an email to kul@weststigersforum.com along with a brief statement on why you should be considered and your own vision for the forum's future.

There are exciting times coming to Concord and I look forward to us all being able to share them here on our forum. Let's go on this journey together!

When you say there is work going on in the background, do you mean you're going to stop approving people to get banned when they break your rules, only to unban them when they complain to you then chew out the mod team for doing what you tell them to do and then disappear so you don't have to respond to the mod team you just chewed out when they ask why?

I watched you do it for 11 years while I was a moderator and unless you change that practice, anything else you do to this forum is a waste of time.

But I've got toooo much in my life to sort out [at the ripe old age of nearly 75] so that I can finally get a settled and hopefully happy life, probably for the 1st time ever.
There's plenty of good and genuine people on here including yourself, to settle this place down and give it a great new and fresh look and feel.

Hello all,
I'm writing this to apologise publicly to Kul after I made some posts that attacked his character. I will state here that I was wrong in making those judgements.
A number of factors, out of either of our control, lead to my drawing incorrect conclusions. As a result I requested that my profile be deleted from the WT website. Kul complied with my request.
After a brief period of communication between us, Kul then offered to reinstate my profile. It appears that this was no mean feat. After persisting with several attempts he has been successful. So for what it's worth, I'm back.

Noticed some posts in this thread predicting the place will go downhill with losing two long serving mods.

The update has this place looking classy and I believe the posting and engagement is better than ever, for an off season at least.
