Any ideas for a good holiday destination in Australia?

Brunswick Heads is really nice around October.

You've got a river with excellent fishing, beaches, the weather is usually perfect and the bush isn't far away.

It gets really busy in summer, but I find October is tolerable.

Woolgoolga (the locals call it Woopi) is a fantastic coastal village about 10/15 mins north of Coffs Harbour.

I had a holiday in Woolgoolga. First trip into town to get some supplies, two fellas did a drug deal on the footpath in front of me. It was a great trip otherwise.

I suggest Yamba & Redcliffe,.

I hear that the weather on the Adriatic is still nice and warm. Ever want decide to go and see that part of the world I have a good driving itinerary with well rated accommodation and short little ship cruise of the islands included. Drop me a line if interested in going that far north.

Might need a lotto win for that one 😂

Darwin - the sunsets, Adelaide River with the crocs, wave pool for the kids next to the Neptune Apartments on Darwin Harbour (fenced off of course unless you like croc wrestling), the great markets, the great atmosphere at night with the food vendors along the wharf,.

Don't cancel . Lots of variety up there. You never feel stuck in one place. Largely free of Cronulla and Parra supporters.

Believe me I don’t want to cancel, but I might not have a choice. If the places up there remain under threat of bushfire or even have all the smoke/ash remnants of the previous one floating around, I don’t think it would be very pleasant. It’s hard to know what it’s really like not actually being there and just hearing the media reports, but I guess the good thing is there hasn’t been anything about it on the news for many days now. No news is good news as they say ?

Expecting some rain early next week in that area Spud .....I reckon you will be right Peregian Beach is a really nice area .....my Mum lives about 40 kms north

This is music to my ears, Happy.

Feeling a bit more peaceful about keeping my original arrangements now actually. Though if anything drastic happens between now and then the forum has certainly given me plenty of other options to consider. Thanks so much everyone ?

You can't go past Humpty Doo

Hahaha when I first ventured to the Northern Territory I saw that place on the map and said I have to go there. Had a beer or two and a nice lunch in the pub 😁

if you don't mind driving to the Tamworth area (seems a lot of tigers fans don't like it) check out a place called Bob's Shed. It has the best collection of stuff that will take you back to your childhood, and if you like Peter Brock it's the place for you

@Spud_Murphy there is NO place like Hawaii! A 9 hour flight and you're there! Guaranteed warm in October.

@Spud_Murphy

Mate don't let the recent fires put you off, it only affected a very small area of the Coast.
I live in Caloundra, everywhere bar that small area is totally fine.
Come up, the weather's warm, the water's warm, the beer's cold you'll enjoy it and I'm sure the local businesses will appreciate it.

Mate there’s this beautiful little spot that goes into party mode early September every year. It’s called concord. Sleepy little spot with the only traffic being people trying to get out of the joint
