Any Wests Fans in Melb?

Hi,

Have recently moved to Melbourne and I am wondering if there are any Wests Tigers fans who would like to catch up to watch the games.

All we have to do is find somewhere that doesn't flick the channel to aerial ping-pong as soon as there is a sniff of a AFL game on.

Fair dinkum. I was at the casino watching the Roosters game on the big screen and at half-time they flicked all channels to the Collingwood-Carlton game preview. Finally found a TV in one of the bars and ended up watching the game and having a beer with a deperado Roosters fan (the guy had tickets to the big AFL game but watched the game and headed to the MCG for the final quarter).

There's a group that call themselves Melbourne based Wests Tigers Fanatics, they used to be very active in the forum but havent seen any of them here in awhile, you can still find their group on facebook though http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#!/group.php?gid=4979514491

Had some awesome days down there with them, from pubs in richmond to the caz, great bunch of guys & girls.

When I was in Melbourne I went to the casino and the Rugby League was on the middle big screen there but when the AFL started they moved the NRL to one of the side screens and moved the AFL to the middle screen and had the audiio for the AFL. I hated that but I expected it down there.

There's always a good group on the Friday night or Sunday afternoon games.

Heya Larry - We'll be down at the Limerick Arms on the corner of Clarendon and Park St South Melbourne for the Wests Tigers kickoff at 7.30 tonight!
You can get the #112 tram on Collins St. that heads West then down Clarendon, or the #1 tram that heads South past Flinders St. train station on Swanston Street!

If you have an interest in State Cup games, Western suburbs Magpies played in Melbourne at Olympic Park last Saturday, and BRET play there on Saturday the 19th of June at 3pm if you're interested!

Heya Richard - The League of Our Own Site hasn't sent out a list of venues for this weeks games, but I'm guessing that we'll be at the Limerick this Sunday June 20th for the Raiders game at 4pm.

I'll be there in the bumblebee strip!

Balmain is also playing at Olympic park this Saturday June 19th at 2pm if you're interested.

Hey mate, geez there has been blood, sweat & tears shed at the Melbourne venues, especially by tigers fans. Reckon we outnumber any other group by 3X.

Hey there guys, Not really a melbourne based fan, but I am in victoria. Based in wodonga!

Just took my young bloke up to the SFS for the good friday clash against the broncos, was an awesome night. But I must say…. what happened to the cheerleaders that night?!@?!?!?!?!?!?!

will keep a look out for you all on the forum and I am deffinately in when the tigers finally get the chance to play at AMMI park!

Went to Melbourne a little while back for the Avalon Airshow and we stayed in Carlton with Lygon Street a block away from our Hotel, we found a Sportsbar just down from all the Italian eateries and while they did have 'some' Storm memoriabilia the most popular pool table of the 3 was the Storm Pool table.
Drinks were rather expensive though, $8.00-$9.00 for pint, haven't they heard about Schooners!.

Just moved to Melbourne & saw on the League of their own site that the Tigers v Dragqueens is shown at the Limerick Arms Hotel at 4pm. I take it it's an hour delayed because of Storm match?

Heya Mark - Sorry about the slow reply, and I hope you got to the Limerick easily.

Sunday games are always delayed to 4pm if they are the channel 9 telecast as that's the timeslot they put games on free to air - that way it runs into the news for them.

I actually said on the latest Roarcast that the Limerick Arms in Sth Melbourne will be showing the next Tigers game but it is in fact the British Crown Hotel at 14/18 Smith Street Collingwood showng the MNF clash v Newcastle. Might try get along.
