Apologise to Seyfarth HERE

He's been flying ever since i saw him in the first trial, but in saying that in no way shape or form does he require any sort of apology from anyone particularly fans.

Apologising for what lol? He is what most of thought he was. He's improved since last year where he was arguably the worst forward in first grade, but he's still far from an impactful player.

He's a good defender, has a good motor for a prop and understands the game. However he offers very little impact off the bench. We can carry two of Tamou, Twal and Seyfarth type players at most.

The Seyfarth type isn't really useful in the current high speed game. You either need to be a big post-contact metre forward who can get over the advantage line or be a forward with ball-playing ability and footwork who can create second phase play or generate quick play the balls. He'll never be the first, but with some work could be passable in the second role.

There's no problem with him being in first grade for the time being, but Utoikamanu and Musgrove offer significantly more upside in a team where we realistically will be carrying Tamou and Twal for the foreseeable future.

Carrying Twal? The guy who averages 116m a game and has a 95% tackling efficiency?

It's hard to believe that the one bloke who can be relied on every week cops this sort of flak.

I mean carrying in the sense he will be in the team, not that he is a passenger.

These apology threads are stupid, no one should have to apologise for an opinion.

A bit off track with my post @cochise but there is a bloke that looks a lot like you in the Upper Hunter electorate in the upcoming State election.
He's running under the Sustainable Australia banner.
Any relation to you?

Funnily enough I don't know him but just looked him up and considering his last name is Blair and he grew up around Lake St Clair I would think he is a part of my step Grandmothers very extended family lol.

Thanks for that little bit of interesting family history @cochise.
I've usually only voted Independent for quite a few elections now and this guy sounds the best of them to me.
Unfortunately not to many Independents are elected though.

Seyfarth together with Papenhuyzen, Suli and Doueihi were the standouts in a Balmain SG Ball team. Even then, Seyfarth had height, mobility, a high work rate and that undefeated attitude which often makes the difference between an NRL player and NSW Cup player. He's going to be a wonderful forward.

If he can improve his metres per carry he'll be real quality. Maybe needs a little more muscle on him

Big thing from Seyfarth last night. He passed the ball more times then the rest of our pack combined. He creates by having options. His decence and effort are great and he runs hard. Cant ask much more from a forward

Please write your apologies to Alexander Seyfarth in this thread. Man up fellas!

Agree mate.
All effort. He was OK in the games last year.

But maybe needed a bit of time.
He is integral to our future, I hope we offer him a new contract.

I started watching the Tigers game preaching to my mate about how we need a Mitch Barnett or Elliot Whitehead effort player in our side. Little do I know we might have our own in the making.

I think Twal has been one of our best players all year.

Yeah he was good last night but to paraphrase Madge it's about consistency in the NRL.

Sums it up for me. He looks to have gone up a gear though since coming back from Reggies.

He had a solid game, we noticed him for once.
He did make some errors and was far from perfect.
His runs aren’t effective, he needs some grunt.
His defense is what we all remember and passing at the line which gave the halves space.
Let’s see him back it up over the next few weeks and add some grunt to his runs.

Not sure if it's already been mentioned.

There was a period in the second half where the Knights gave away a penalty for a facial on Alex. The cameras caught Watson giving Alex a mouthfull.

Few plays later, Knights are rucking the ball off their line. Alex at marker chases Watson across field and causes a handover by attacking the ball.

Great to see his competitiveness.

How he’s in the squad above utoikamanu, amone and musgrove is a mystery. I’d rather Packer on the bench. Tuilagi would be a much better bench player. Even the young guys like Lui and Tuifua would have more impact.
