Hang on, what? Ask the fans? they can't be serious, that's ludicrous, can't they make decisions about what they think is best for the club?

The coach obviously wants him as a player and the Administrators are worried about member/supporter backlash. Why wouldn't they look at places like this forum to gauge what the fans think?
The guy carries baggage and I respect the club for considering what we think.
