From WT facebook:
Matt Groat has suffered a toe injury at training. He will undergo surgery and is out indefinitely.
More details to follow as they come to hand.

Shame, would have been good to see him get another year under his belt and develop his game some more. Hopefully he gets it sorted and its not a chronic ongoing issue.

Not really going to effect us early on in the season but its always good to have guys like him on the fringe pushing for a spot and ready for depth.

If it's anything like the toe injury Galloway suffered, it will keep him out for awhile, and it means we're one prop down before a ball has been kicked from the sound of it.

Heard someone say he might be gone for the yr. Find it hard to believe you could be sidelined for a season because of a toe. If thats the case cut it off

I'm no doctor and I understand what you've heard is speculation, but yeah it sounds a little odd having a season ending toe injury. Must be pretty severe.

Dude try running without your big toe

Is it the big one?

Whoever originally posted it in another thread last night said that was the case Ink

Makes sense , it is the only toe which would cause you enough problems to stop you from playing

Great, so we have props dropping like flies before the season has even started.

anyone confirm this?

seems like some of our juniors might be getting a run earlier than expected

[or maybe they'll go with pettybourne and bell for the bench props?]

Why do people have to play guessing games/drop hints?

Just post the bloody info if you have info….nothing worse than time wasting fart arsin around
