Looks like we signed him according to todays telle. Hope the boy makes good he can be a star

The Telegraph use our forum as basis for fact. There have been heaps of suggestions on our forum we have him. That would be their source. Nothing out of WT has mentioned it.

In this weeks issue of Rugby League Week, it says that Taumata has had secret talks with the Broncos despite signing with the Tigers for next season. This is some of the article

**Bad boy Arana Taumata is at the centre of a remarkable tug of war, holding secret talks with Brisbane despite Wests Tigers claiming they have him signed for 2010.
The Broncos see taumata as a possible replacement for darren Lockyer, who RLW has learned may hang up his boots as early as the end of next season.
But the Tigers are livid that the Broncos are even considering Taumata.
"He and his manager agreed to a deal with us for next year…he has signed and we are already puttig things into place" a Tigers official says " We are stunned to hear he is talking to the Broncos"**

I really don't care whether we sign him or not. He will be on a small amount of money anyway and he could be a good pick up; but on the other hand he will probably do as good a job as Lui and him starting at 5/8 next year might get Lui thinking about another club.

I would rather have Lui than Taumata. Like King Sirro has stated before, Taumata could play fullback because of his speed….not a bad idea.

Arana has agreed to play for the WT next year to a $200,000 deal for 2 years….that is why the WT as so upset...another done deal, going wong

maybe he's been talking to ben t'eo.
Anyway, good to see the WT communications & recruitment arms going strong as always.
Communications people state that he's already signed but we as fans only hear this from a grab in a magazine about him talking to a different clubs recruitment people.
The only thing left to complete the trifecta is sheens coming out to say he's the next steve menzies and will make us a great backrower with the possibility of playing at prop.

Well, this post made my day….nice work!

How about we save ourselves the time, money and stress Taumata will inevitably bring with him and use the funds elsewhere. We've got half a dozen players capable of playing five eighth already, including some good young prospects I'd be less inclined to want to see playing for another team. The fact is we don't need him - and I don't want him.

I know of another player who is being messed around as well, with a contract…

I am looking into a crystal ball.

The player you are talking about wouldn't be Rhys Pritchard would it?

I think the only thing we can do about this saga, is sit back and wait on officail news from the club to confirm anything about this. At the moment he hasn't signed with any one and they are all romours to me.

That's a decent offer the Tigers have offered him considering his past indescretions. I would like to think he'll honour the contract if it's a done deal. Pity the Tigers have not formally announced anything regarding it yet but it's very poor form if he's talking to the Broncos and has indeed signed with us.

If he's doing that, combined with his bad history, i say we brush him. Moltzen is showing great signs as a 5/8, which leaves only fullback for taumata, and we have Brown and gallant who are more the capable.

Wish the club would get its act together when it comes to this sort of thing. Pritchard is certainly deserving of a contract and I'd have him on the wing before Ryan.
