If Arana is signed with the Magpies, doesnt that mean Brisbane have every right to chase him? I thought if a player is contracted in the State Cup they a free to persue offers from NRL clubs at anytime, but not other State Cup sides? Could be wrong.

He's signed with the Wests Tigers mate…..

Is that definate mate? Its the impression i got, but then Staks said he's signed with the Pies, so it threw me a bit.

All the media reports say it's a Wests Tigers signing….Then again it is Wests Tigers we are talking about.....Nothing 'OFFICIAL' has appeared on the website or WTV....I think Staks was taking the micky out of me...it's been going for a while....

Direct quotes from the recruitment guy not good enough for yas?
Tigers dont want publicity of signing a bad boy repeat offender while looking for a new major sponsor…pretty simple really

I was taking McDonnells qoutes as saying its Wests Tigers but then when someone say's its the Magpies, its natural to start doubting.

Gotta find out Staks' bait supplier…its GREAT stuff.

The hook is still in

The sooner Bret and Magpies merge the better i reckon, but thats another argument.

Just for you Staks…....

They are just jumping in the boat mate.......

Stories I have recently read have said that he is being chased by the drongoes, one of these were in the Rugby League Week. Even though it was said that he had signed for us…....dirty scum.

Same bait, different location … Same results :sunglasses:

This weeks RLW has an article on Taumata. It delves into the allegation that the Broncos attempted to steal Taumata from the Tigers. Taumata himself is quoted as saying that Brisbane showed some interest in him since he had gone to play for Easts Tigers, and he did consider staying in Qld as he feels he has turned his life around since being up there.

However the Broncos did not make a formal offer to him and while he has yet to sign an official contract with the Tigers he has verbally (I think this is what it said from memory) agreed to terms with the club for the next two years. When the news came out about the Broncos allegedly chasing him, Robbie Farah actually rang Taumata last week and spoke with him to confirm whether he would still be coming to the Tigers. Taumata said yes and is looking forward to getting into FG.

If this article is on the money, then it also explains why Taumata has not been officially announced by the Tigers on their website. A formal deal must be close to being done though I would think.

Dont panic, hes just on a bender at the moment, doin a pub crawl,, working his way down…

Sounds more like mcdonnell's the one on the pub crawl.
A 'verbal' contract???
Although now that Moltzen;s playing well & Lui's supposedly been signed it leaves the door open for us to break it….
With hunt going to aerial ping pong maybe the bronco's will be a bit more serious now.

Sounds a bit contradicting now, didn't Mcdonnell say he will definitely be at the tigers next year?

In RLW his manager says he has a binding agreement to play the next 2 years at the WestsTigers,an official contract is not signed yet,but his manager says he will be in Sydney with the Weststigers next year.

From the managers dictionary
**Binding** The very last, definite and final agreement. Unless I can get a better offer for him elsewhere.

Yes, he will be here.

Fair enough, thanks guys. Just didn't like the sound of "verbal agreement".

I'm still hoping this goofy goober goes elsewhere.

Even if he fulfills this potential everybody thinks he has, I think we're better off on all fronts without him.

I was talking to people close to Arana last week and they say he hasn't had a drink since being back in QLD cup.

From all accounts his attitude has improved immensely and he really wants this. I honestly think this could be one of the best signings this club has ever made.

Well thats very good news. If someones prepared to give up the grog that definitely when they've obviously had a problem with it before then thats a really good indication of desire.
I'm still not decided on our need for him but if he's prepared to put that much into cleaning himself up & getting himself back then you've got to be happy with that. Hope he proves to be as good as the wraps that he has.

I would like to know the finer details of his contract,,i heard the tigers are paying for him to attend rehab and suitable housing…
