i 100% agree BJ.

people wont like the decisions but all will be forgotten when we win the premiership

Short term pain for long term gain..
You hardly hear anyone mention how Mark O'Neil was stripped of the captaincy half way through 05 when the team then went onto win the premiership with a new captain.

Rugby League is a business these days.. There isn't much loyalty, these days it's all about the brand name and the colours rather then who is wearing them.

Hybrid, fafita hasn't been around as long as what collis and halatau were. What if this is as good as fafita gets?
Perhaps sheens has seen enough at training to know that he has deficiencies in his game that are not worth persisting with.
I for one would keep him, all im saying is potential doesn't win you premierships or bring you consistant on field performance.

Sheens only said yesterday on 2SM that Fifita has a few more years to get to the level of an accomplished starting front rower….basically saying its a long development, moreso for props.

If we lost one of our best - imo - up n comers then the club has stuffed up big time.

Might buy shares in the KFC at Mirnada…. Thier profits will go through the roof now the big man is moving for a sea change...

If you believed everything you heard on this forum we wouldn't have enough players to field a side next year. Now the Sharks forum is citing this forum who got it from a Sharks insider as the source… Oi...

As someone has pointed out, A Fifita is under contract until the end of next year so would the Sharks really sign him for 2013 in June 2011?

And even better, one of the alleged sources for this scoop is John Elias' twitter account. Yeah...

Correct, and he's already shown more than they ever did.

I wonder if other clubs threw big $$$ at either Halatau or Collis? I doubt it. Nobody was upset they left anyway.

Do you honestly think that is the case give this is only his second season?

His biggest deficiency last year (defense) has improved immensely this season.

I think he's shown alot more than potential. I don't expect consistency at his age.

FTR, I think the club is doing the right thing turning over players, and I would not complain one iota if Gibbs or Fulton left, but Fifita would be a massive loss. Just my opinion.

Oh and they also believe Ian Hindmarsh is making a comeback to sign with Cronulla. Personally I'd love that to be true - they can get Jason Cayless to lace up the boots again too. It will be the funniest thing on TV.

Anyway, point is, the vast bulk of the source material for the rumours on the Sharks website are twitter accounts of people real and imagined. Treat them with extreme caution.

Playing the game is one thing, bad attitude and a lack of dedication is another. Sooner or later a bad attitude and a lack of dedication will affect on field performance.

Can't view FB at work but is this something coming from RLW or just punters shooting the breeze on their FB wall? You'd think if it had substance it would make the published version.

I agree with Hybrid. I will be very disappointed if Fifita changes clubs. He was a standout at Under 20's level, and he has brought that through to first grade.

Like Rhino he plays with passion and that is all I want to see. If all our players - including some established stars - put in the effort Fifita and Rhino did then I wouldn't be disappointed losing games.

However, taking big dollars when you are young doesn't automatically mean you will turn into an accomplished first grader. I thought the Sharks would have learned after all the money they through at that big guy from the Dogs (can't recall his name), and he only played two first grade games.

You'd have to be nuts to take an offer to join the Sharks no matter how much coin they offer.

1) No certainties they will be around the NRL in a few years…even if they are most likely will be in Perth...
2) Going to such a weak club will do nothing to enhance your playing prospects and skills...Brilliant players like Marshall and Farah make everyone look good!..Look at G.I...he is a shadow of himself at Souffs!

While it's good to keep players that we've seen play a lot of games for us, won a premiership, whatever, if we can upgrade any one of them then as a club wanting success then we would be silly not to. Unfortunately it's a business and we have to upgrade to be successful. Blair is an instant upgrade over Gibbs and Fulton as it stands, but only time will tell with fifita

Think they would be more likely to move to Central Coast than Perth . Story I heard on Sunday ABC Grandstand on the way to work was Perth supposedly have been given the green light . That there is only one spot left at the moment . This came from one of the bosses of the new 2nd Brisbane side bid .

Then gallop came on straight after and went on to say that there's nothing concrete for any expansion.

Wondering if Gibbo gave Benji what for at training the other week. Not because of the Fulton's wife codswallop…but because Benji may have been in Sheensy's ear about signing fellow Kiwi counterpart Blair.
Where there is smoke.... :unamused:

The amount of 'inside sources' that seem to land on this forum are baffling. To be honest it wouldn't surprise me, but I will wait until there is an official announcement from either side to believe it.

IF this is to be true, Gibbs is a bigger loss than Fifita to me. Fifita has potential, but he still has some defensive deficiencies, but his biggest problem is that he simply doesn't run straight. He runs sideways, palms 5 people off, runs the other way palms 5 people off then runs back the first way to swat away the same 5 people, all while gaining about 5m max! If he ran straight more often he would be deadly, but he still seems to be stuck in sideways mode…..good player, but still has some problems.

And to be honest, IF losing these two means we have the money for Blair, then so be it. If we play Blair on one edge, Dwyer on the other, with Heighno and Ellis, we have the best back-row in the competition by far!
