Are we being heard?

It's always come across my mind if people involved in the club including players visit this site, I think it's important for the club to listen to what us fans think about potential decisions that the club announces such as signing a new coach, new players, facility upgrades based on location etc.

Anyone know of anything if the club do visit this page or not?

Just curious!

They never confirm it officially (confirm they are reading our posts), but I'd be gobsmacked if they don't keep an eye on this forum. In fact they are probably reading this right now.

Think of it in terms of fan engagement, to look at the forum is essentially a free pass over a core group of strong fans, they don't need to engage any survey or media company to get an idea of what is important to us. It's only a slice of the whole fanbase, but like I said it's free and they can see quite transparently what's trending.

Also the club has contacted moderators in the past for inflammatory posts, it's been confirmed on here. I believe the mods normally self-manage, but if something becomes of particular concern it has been reported that the club makes contact.

They also had the member feedback committee last year (or 2015?), which I am not sure if they are continuing, but to have a few meetings to get F2F feedback. I don't recall if anyone from the forum ended up involved, though we mooted that we should have a representative (in our own opinions).

The mods might be able to fill us in further.

Once you start listening to fans it's time to start sitting with them..

I was at a training session last year with Shaun Spence. At one point i looked down at my phons and he asked "you're not on the forum are you?"

They seem pretty aware.

I'm sure a negative west tigers Google search would bring them here.
Hope the players see it. Couldn't care less about the admin as they are soulless pen pushers.

You've got it all backwards - players should stay right out of here, they should not be getting involved in the crap people write about them, it either swells their heads or demotivates. We're really all nobodies in here and there is a lot of poisonous comments, it's not really conducive to improving performance unless you are the type of footballer to react positively to pressure and negative feedback.

It's the same reason you hear players says "my manager will take care of the contract negotiations" because they don't want to get hung up in those discussions.

The admin are the ones who should keep an eye out. And you don't know them at all, they could be genuine honest people.

They're watching, don't worry about that.

And I don't think they see the varied opinions of a few hundred regular rusted ons to gauge the feeling of the whole fan base. For example, I reckon the Farah saga would have gone close to splitting this forum down the middle, whereas the punters through the gates were overwhelmingly in support of him.

Players have egos that need to be fed even when they have down time.
All celebrities Google themselves. These kids would be googling themselves to death and would surely read the negatives.
I am a betting man and I'd wager that players trawl here often.

I'm not saying they don't, I'm saying they probably shouldn't. You said you hope the players see it, I honestly hope they don't, I can't see any good of digging through negative and anonymous criticism.

Definitely being heard. Look at the poll, get rid of JT now and replace witj Cleary was the unanimous winner and it happened.

If you believe that is why they punted JT then why don't you go make a poll on how much we should give the big 4 and which players we should let go for 2018.

A lot of the younger players would read this stuff.

They would never admit to it but they would.

No way Robbie Farah doesn't Google himself daily.
All the Burgess boys too.

Jirskyr is correct… Of course they shouldn't... When its roses... Yeh! All good
But when the fit hits the shan. Nup.
I've seen players parents on here.... They always have to leave eventually. Nothing good comes from it.
Social media is a normalpart of life for most young people now day... It would be Impossible for players to avoid comments on themselves.... They shouldn't search for it tho

You didn't have remove JT immediately as an option

We're just a small blip on the radar guys. Yes, they know we're here but with no real trouble makers on the site, as has been the case in years gone past, we just cruise along which is how it should be.
