Are we being marked for removal?

Meh, if I'm on a High horse, you rode in on a donkey. A few of us brought this up when the NRL loan idea was floated, you aren't freaken Nostradamus, more like his slower intellectually challenged mate rocking around in his tin foil hat.

Dont worry about my red wine, keep your focus on laying off the crack pipe.

 Sorry I don't recall. And if I am slow and intellectually challenged then a strong majority of the human race are intellectually defeated.

Sorry BnW I'll take Mac's back

Anyone who can pick Penrith to beat Melbourne with the exact scoreline wins hands down in my eyes

And your banjo seems out of tune as well

Well the NRL has never been a fan of us, we have the lowest membership number in the comp and we are struggling big time financially and we no longer have that money spinning marquee named Benji Marshall to drive revenue, so it's not out of the realms of possibility that our necks could be on the chopping block in the not too distant future.

However, I don't think it will happen, the NRL is planning to increase team numbers, not reduce them and teams like the Sharks with very small development areas in comparison to us would be first in line to get the axe before us, especially since we are one of the clubs in the prime location to fight GWS & WSW for junior stocks.

I'm not saying they'll be reducing. In fact they might well mess with Cronulla as well since they're going through their own world of issues. They have a LOT of potential locations that make more sense for a national competition.

Brisbane 2/Redcliffe/Sunshine Coast
Western Corridor
Central Queensland
Central Coast
Perth
NZ2
Adelaide
even PNG

And we have half a million Sydney teams. They could introduce four new teams and still have justification for relocating more than one Sydney team.

Mac I'm feeling better about 2012 and 2013 now based on your figures

Finishing 10th and 15th respectively from half a million teams is a good result

And having 6000 members when people have so many options is a great result

Concerned about playing every team once and half the teams twice though , season may get longish and slip into summer (of 2994)

To be honest I'm unsure how we survived this long having to share a supporter base of a potential million or two with another 125,000 clubs.

Yes in fact I can name them all in less than a second.

And what about the spread of talent , just amazing

and they still can't find 17 players to beat a state of 3 teams?

WSM & Balmain made the sacrifice and lost their own identity at NRL level. This means that should quarantine them from further moving around. Saying that WT has some challenges:

- viable ownership
- close to lowest membership in nrl
- not fully establishing a south west presence
- no high profile marquee recruits
- split between 3 home grounds
Amongst others..

WT brand is here to stay. But WT will be prone to changes in the next few years for necessary and strategic reasons (both at their own call and that of ARLC)

I think you have some valid points in your post. I for one wouldn't be surprised if it all came to fruition. I pray it doesn't, and i'm inclined to think it wont. If i lost my team again id walk away from rugby league. Although in saying that, having a team with out constant infighting, both from its board and its members/fans would be a nice change after 15 odd years.

Geez Mac, did you roll out of your UFO last night?

The Tigers will stay in Sydney for the long term. There are other clubs way ahead of us on the chopping block. You pick some random stats (think - we've been one of the highest merchandise sellers over the years, lots of ch9 games, one of the most marketable and popular clubs in the NRL, and had over 10k members not long ago) and draw the bow that as there's a deadline for a financial repayment the club is doomed?

Yes all the rubbish you said is nothing more than a co-incidence.

Do you really think the NRL wants to weaken it's presence in Western Sydney when its coming under attack by the A-League and to a lesser extent the AFL? No, they want to strengthen what they see as their backyard.

Gould can try and take over the world if he wants. He can call his club the NSW Panthers, it doesn't mean they're going to be playing Origin!
