I agree 💯re. your "surely we're permitted to scribble out a few sentences" without being crucified on here by about 300 Balmain leaning posters as compared to 3 or 4 speaking from a Wests Magpies pov.
And it's been going on for a long time...too long.

But to be honest the only magpie bashing ive seen here for a long time was the post that started all the crap in this thread....I just feel like we all should be grown outta this by now, we arent the juniors of this supporter base we are all the other end, the oldest, should be most mature and adult
I just see no value in Balmain/Magpie drama whatsoever...weve had 25 years of it surely we can get past it.....but no, we cant...and it will continue til were all dead or the clubs extinct

Nothing personal from me either Ink and I don't disagree with your post here. I'd rather never having to defend the magpies on here again. There's much better (forward-facing) stuff to talk about ........ I hope.

I was also there! I was reminded of it last week after having not given it a though for years 😉 . It has certainly caused some PTSD over the years.

edit: I was actually randomly seated next to the old Alien that night with his c'mon wests banner for those that have a long memory. The curse started before kick off for me

Maybe it's because of all the pro Balmain rubbish you say exist.

Let's do a little test, I never want to see Balmain back in the top grade. I don't care about protecting their legacy, I want what is best for the Wests Tigers and Wests Tigers alone. Can you say the same thing?

Let’s reminisce about appointing Alan Jones, ditching the Eighth Wonder for Parra Stadium and all those highly functional Balmain years leading into the JV 🥴 (maybe should have taken Benny’s advice and relocated to Melbourne back in the early nineties).

People on here who predate the joint venture can play it all high and mighty but when things get tough (as they invariably do with this club) their biases invariably bubble to the surface. Old Balmainites blame HBG, Campbelltown Stadium, the NSW Cup branding etc, while old Magpies like me complain about being smothered by orange folklore.

@Flash089 mentioned the Wests in Wests Tigers means nothing.
He said it's just a compass point on a map.
It could mean Parramatta or Penrith.
And I agree that today it probably means nothing to a lot of younger people, in particular.

In a few more years WESTS and the Magpie will have been wiped from folklore if nothing is done to regain parity in what You and I can say on here.

No, but it would show where you priorities lie mate. Are you a Wests Tigers supporter or a Wests Magpies.

If a decision needs to be made that is best for the Wests Tigers but harmful for the Wests Magpies, what decision to you make?
