Are we moving back to ANZ Stadium next year?

Pretty sure SFS deal would not allow WT to have a deal with ANZ.

Souths home ground is in WT territory and WT SFS home ground is in Souths territory. Crazy.

It's very trivial - it says upcoming games. I only think they used this weeks hash tag as its a good week to make the announcement given were playing there.

Could we be using the money to pay out Sheens' contract?

I definitely didn't expect such a warm reception from the possibility of us going back there. **I for one HATE ANZ Stadium**

Yep…..ANZ Stadium has about as much warmth, charisma and personality as Tom Waterhouse. We may as well play at Boggo Road Prison.
Money talks I suppose. But it is no co-incidence that successful teams like Manly and Storm don't [This word has been automatically removed] themselves out to the highest bidder....only a fool would give up home-ground advantage so easily as WT management do (sums it up I guess) :deadhorse: :brick:

It's possibly a 2 game ticket deal as we play the dogs and rabbits there within a couple of weeks.

Well that better be it, anything about moving games there this year or anytime in the future will end my and my families membership, we all hate the stadium and will not be going to games there.

ANZ is shit to watch club games at.. Too far away from the action, no atmosphere. No atmosphere = better off staying and watching at home.. I mean that is why we go to the games isn't it? To experience the atmosphere with fellow members and fans..

I travel from the central coast to all home games and all Sydney, Newcastle and canberra away games where i always sit in GA. Although Homebush is much easier and quicker to get to than many of the other grounds, I dread going to it! It just isn't an enjoyable experience. I'd prefer to go to another suburban ground and be totally outnumbered by the opposition or be at the sfs with a poor crowd and be close to that action.

I wouldn't be as keen to renew my membership if there was a large number of games held at Homebush..

You mean successful teams like souths and bulldogs who have whored themselves out -plus Melbourne don't have other options or anyone offering them games. As for manly they can't get fans anywhere else. For me the fact souths and dogs get good crowds at ANZ and the money to go with it will make us more successful. The government has been clear that it won't fund suburban stadiums so its only a matter of the till we move and 10k at Campbelltown for no money is much worse then 15 k at ANZ with a lump of cash. Same with Leichhardt and SFS if the facilities don't get improved then no more games will be at Leichhardt eventually

We have more of a future at Ctown than at Leichhardt

Souths and the Dogs recently got 51 and a half thou….plenty of atmosphere there

But theyre them and we are us

Agree with GNR maybe there I more than one in this crowd. If you look at predicted population growth, infrastructure plans and where the money is going the club can't ignore facts. I think this long term with a solid marketing campaign accompanied with an already increased community involvement by the club will reap a he'll of a lot of long term rewards. The clubs not going to worry about a very small % of people who don't want to travel and think they are above going west. I would say if the club promotes and markets well in the new areas it will be a sell out crowd each and every time.It won't happen over night but it will happen :roll

Same goes for those that don't want to travel to the east and mix with the lar-tay sippers

Agree with you. all 3 grounds are within a 45 minute drive from each other. We should follow our team everywhere. It is our team after .

For those wondering what the announcement was:

It's not all bad moving back to ANZ… They recently installed the biggest screens in the southern hemisphere (or some such)... so we'll actually get to see what's happening on the field.

No they didn't, their last screen upgrade was in 2009, since then the biggest screen was installed at Skoda Stadium (the old showground at Olympic Park) but that has since been beaten by the SCG last month.

Wherever we have a beeter winning record and which ever ground pays the most. Although while we are loosing and at the wrong end of the table, our bargaining power is deminished and may not get as good a deal as we could of.
