Are you a member that auto-renewed? Feeling duped?? Do this

Blanket refusals for refunds - generating some additional bad PR:

Anyone who has had their request denied should reply that they will follow up with the department of fair trading unless the club action the request.

It is NOT a change of mind refund request. The product and service they are selling us has changed. What these people paid for, they are not receiving anymore. Hence you are entitled to a full refund.

Please always be polite when contacting the club. The membership team are not to blame for the current mess, so be respectful of them. But also be form and demand your rights under Australias consumer protection laws.

Don’t hassle WT admin guys, follow up thru NRL.

No
Members can do both.
They are legally entitled to a refund. If the Dept of Fair trading ultimately says otherwise then ok, but these members are entitled to they refund. It is illegal for the club to refuse, they're just presuming that most members won't bother to keep pushing to get their money back.

The club's response to refund requests is incorrect and as such, invalid.

The only way we can hurt HBG currently is the hip pocket. If a thousand people demand and get refunds that sends a very clear message to the others and the NRL that the current situation is untenable.

Yes we should be contacting the NRL too. That's how we will get meaningful change.

I’ve asked WT for my money back too. But I’ll take it up with NRL rather than keep hammering the admin staff at Wests.

Just reiterate in a calm and respectful manner that this is not a change of mind request, that the service you paid for has fundamentally changed and that's the reason you want a refund. They have no comeback to that.

Save the NRL for replacing the board and ownership

Yeah, probably have success that way.

My reasoning for following it up with NRL is two-fold

1. Less work for WT admin team who would be getting pumped
2. PVL will hear about all the WT members cancelling and be more inclined to intervene

I guess the more angles we are heard from the better.
