BAM
@Tigerlily you're up
Awesome pick for the 80's...
True, he did retire in 1990, vs Sterlo, so similiar to him and King Wally. (All great picks imo)
Agree..for the 80's.or Greatest Players of All Time..

But the whole point was what they’d contributed in a space of time going into that decade (you can’t measure ANY player on one single year of their career? Does that mean, that, at the time they’re not thought of as great players by peer and coach alike????... I’d think most of us would still have junior as Backrower or Benchie
You should know that’s what happened in the previous competition - especially if you’re gonna agree that he’s a great player not to mention a Balmain legend... guess you want people to vote with their inhibition glasses on, don’t know why? IIRC, you had David Fafita and Fitzhenry. Two of the less extreme examples but you literally made somewhat of a precedent - with your bum chum
As I said. Make it a rule that the contribution can be measured as significant and all of a sudden it stops being such a blurred line.

I think you can pick players at your discretion as well as vote at your discretion. If there are players who you didn’t see play, then you’d probably rank them lower than players you did see, regardless of how good they were.

Fully agree, GNR, some may say I’m being a negative nelly but it feels like because this is such a subjective thing and also age-relevant that the votes may be a little bit skewed. Sterling one of the first picked in this comp, but to think he should get voted over Johns in the 90’s would be madness. I wait with eager anticipation!
Good luck.

lol you gave Chris Lawrence a 7 and David Fifita a 2..maybe you thought it was Andrew's brother I duuno..but the David Fifita I picked plays for the Broncos ..I love Rowdy to death one of my favourite WT players of all time but to say he's a better back rower than Fifita is funny even in Fifita's shorter career
As for a rule that is exactly it..it's subjective ..if people want to rank Pearce Lewis etc highly that is fine does not bother me 1 bit as the are great players...if people don't that is fine to..
No one else in the last comp seemed to get there knickers in a twist about the voting..I don't think anyone else will here..

Are you kidding me? Rowdy’s not a better backrower than Fafita but at the respective stages of career and given how quickly you can lose your legs in a heavyweight comp mate...
You’d have to be taking the piss to say he’s even close to a 1 in terms of backrowers from 2010-2020 and so by setting that precedent I decided that I was allowed (in my opinion) to vote fully acknowledging - as u said - their contribution on the field and, said PLAYER at peak of their powers. In fact, if it weren’t for injuries to Chris then you would have picked him yourself.
Voting Chris Lawrence highly in the back row as both man and player, and the ones I had above him totally proves the consistency... it’s not our fault you make a completely new thread with title “The Best 2010/19”... Broncos don’t even feature LOL
Who’s knickers are in a twist here?? You oddball
I only bothered replying because Chris Lawrence isn’t even an example I’ve mentioned nor was there any advantage to voting him up...
So, maybe make it a rule?
