Madge had Wayne Collins with him at Souths five years ago....Souths basically forced him to remove him and bring in someone with tactical nous, Seibold.

Madge then appoints Collins, his mate, to assist with us...despite Souths removing him five years ago for being out of touch.

Unfortunately we've been the victims here because he's so worried about being replaced that he's hired the worst assistant coaches in the world.

He has basically hired yes men who have zero desire to be first grade coaches / completely happy to do whatever he says.

Madge and Siebold was actually a great combo...the fearless leader who gave the big speeches + the very well educated, tactician.

For those who say Siebold has not done well at Newcastle as an assistant...probably hoping he gets the first grade job.

That was the problem...Siebold has always been 'the smartest bloke in the room' with tons of ambition. Madge got burnt.

I know things didn't end well for Seibold at the Broncos but his name is often overlooked. We could do with a tactician.

Isn't Seibold at the Knights..

English Rugby Union now lol

Actually I thikn Seibolds technical approach will work in RU, they love it, wasted on leaguies.

I think the appointment of assistant coaches is a great opportunity to embed culture and connection from FG to juniors.
I.e:

Could Gardiner become a FG assistant and still be KOE cup coach? (He is currently KOE cup coach and a fulltime teacher)

And could Kimorley be a assistant and still be junior pathways coach?

And could Farah become an assistant and still run blue shirt?

Could Sheens do hands on coaching supprt role and still be coaching director?

Still need 2 experienced assistants - i.e Henry, Morris or someone similar.

I have heard he doesn't want to give up teaching, unsure how true that is.

Top of the list has to be John Morris right? If Madge stays he should come in, he was getting the most out of a pretty average sharks roster I thought

No chance. Sharks roster is light years better than the Tigers. They sacked him for not being able to attract any players.

The 3 incomings alone are ??
Would've been perfect for the Tigers.
We missed out massively.

Nicho Hynes
Dale Finucane
Cam Mciness.

Hynes and Finucane signed after they punted Morris and announced Fitzgibbon. Kinda the whole point.

I agree and their junior system is next level.
Mulitalo, Katoa, Trindall, Kennedy etc. Their academy is producing a lot of talent with hardly any juniors in the area.

Not really an assistant coaches job to be the main attraction for players is it? He got the best out of quite a few young/inexperienced guys at the sharks, blooded quite a few of them and had them playing pretty decently, suits our roster

He did well getting the Sharks to two finals series. Sharks' supporters I speak with expressed the view the Board were concerned Morris would get the Sharks to a third finals series and win a game or two which would embarrass the Board.

Morris reporting to Sheens as the coaching director is a good option.

If Sheens gets his way Johnny Cronk would be the starting 7 all year just to prove he was right all along.Tamou to wing Nofo to 6 "Its a new dawn".

Lol it would be an upgrade on our current no.7.
You would also have to find room for a backrower in there somewhere.
