Diving over from 5m out.
Does he actually have any pace. Ability to step, bat on the ball etc? From reports he does, but I can't say I recall seeing him in CC nor has he had any big wraps on him as a future star for the chooks.
Let's hope he's not Chance Peni...
He took an intercept and ran 80m at good pace. Reportedly he is strong with good ball skills. Plays right side centre.
Yeah but Bradley took an intercept and ran 90m last year but I wouldn't exactly call him fast.. Above average perhaps. This kid looked as fast Doueihi from those highlights. How fast were the guys chasing him? Is he quick over 20, 50 or 100? Etc we need pace greater than what we currently have. He may be, we just don't know yet.
Unfortunately we're unlikely to get a look at him ourselves this season with no lower grades.

If we wanted an immediate release, you would think Madge has a plan to use him this year

Alex Johnston would make a great full back and Doihue to five eight. Brooks needs a new environment to improve like Storm. Hope Marshall and Lawrence retire this season as I hate watching great players go one season too many.
Doueihi is not an NRL 5/8....Thursday's match shows that he has serious deficiencies at FB also.
Adam has plenty of work to do on his positional play and quickly. Further some of his tackling attempts were quite simply soft.
Other teams will attack us in the same fashion after seeing what the Eels did on Thursday.
Unfortunately, no other fullbacks around unless you want AJ from Souths. To me, he does well to fill in at FB, but he's a better Winger.
You and I could be good halfbacks with them@happy_tiger said in [Asu Kepaoa likely to join Wests Tigers](/post/1189760) said:@avocadoontoast said in [Asu Kepaoa likely to join Wests Tigers](/post/1189758) said:@JoshColeman99 said in [Asu Kepaoa likely to join Wests Tigers](/post/1189754) said:@Speed2burn said in [Asu Kepaoa likely to join Wests Tigers](/post/1189752) said:@avocadoontoast said in [Asu Kepaoa likely to join Wests Tigers](/post/1189747) said:@weststigers said in [Asu Kepaoa likely to join Wests Tigers](/post/1189727) said:@JoshColeman99 said in [Asu Kepaoa likely to join Wests Tigers](/post/1189725) said:@rihannafan1 said in [Asu Kepaoa likely to join Wests Tigers](/post/1189724) said:@JoshColeman99 said in [Asu Kepaoa likely to join Wests Tigers](/post/1189719) said:@rihannafan1 said in [Asu Kepaoa likely to join Wests Tigers](/post/1189718) said:And we will have a lot of money to fill out the roster in the next few years.
Slowly clearing out the dead wood. Fingers crossed we can find another club for Mbye or Reynolds
I can't see it ay. Reynolds would be good in NZ imo but otherwise he's going to be expensive depth for one more year.
Mbye needs to be dropped though or at least Maguire needs to get a way for the bloke to fire up permanently when he's on the field, because we don't get his best nearly enough.
I don’t think he plays that bad at centre, while he doesn’t stand out he normally does a solid job and has the most try assists in the league for an outside backs.
Problem is he’s on ridiculous money. He’s only worth probably half of what he’s on now maybe less.
With only one year left on Reynolds and packers contract they’ll probably just be held on to. Hopefully we sign a young half as a development player for next year
I think the issue with Mbye is the salary vs return. He's not an inherently bad player and frankly he's playing out of position.
$950k buys you a top line centre with change for another player, so it's hard to justify so much cap money to him.
Salary aside, Mbye is actually a pretty good ball player, and we've seen him sum up attacking situations and give a clean pass for his outside man to score. I think he's more suited to the halves and I think he has a place in our team, but on a significantly reduced contract. At half his current salary, he's probably a keeper given his versatility and the halves shortage in the NRL. Anything more and we get better value elsewhere.
I would have Mbye in the halves before Walters and Reynolds.
Mbyes ball playing abilities are wasted in the centres, some of his touches at fullback on Thursday were class
Let him run as fullback in our attacking plays down the left edge. His passing is very good there’s a reason he has the most try assists in the team
With the right structure I think Mbye could be a very good half.
Smith ,Thurston and Slater .......

Once again we sign someones crap, so they can sign a marquee
How do you know he's crap? Talk about being prejudicial.
As I said willow, give him a go, but chooks know talent better than anyone, if he was as good as some on here are saying, they wouldnt let him go

No nothing about him and never seen him play, is he any good or is he any better than our current crop of wingers ?

Hartigan was the Roosters' recruitment officer when he was signed from Auckland. I'd say he would have an in-depth knowledge of his skills and ceiling.
