Aussies 2018 tour of South Africa Spoilers

latest gossip is:

- lehmann to resign (not forced)
- smith and warner one year bans in all formats based on CA code of conduct- apparently should be life ban but "sponsorship and endorsements" not letting them.

if that goes through, $2.5M each in IPL won't be given to them.

Sutherland has promised significant sanctions. Imo a 1 year ban would be a slap on the wrist. They'd really only be missing one Test series. The info could be crap though, considering Lehman has been cleared.

CA buying some time to see if public outrage dies down before deciding on a final sentence. They be gone until after the next ashes at least beyond that who knows. These 3 will have to put in massive performances to force their way back in after that imo. Lehmann lucky at this stage he may fall in the coming weeks.

Its not dying down. Fox Sports FB page posted an article yesterday pushing an idiotic conspiracy theory that Smith knew nothing about it, and is taking the blame so its not all on Bancroft, and they got smashed. Why Smith would risk his career and reputation like that was conveniently not explained.

I see some common sense has prevailed Matt Renshaw recalled from the SHEFFIELD SHIELD CHAMPIONS QLD BULLS

Sorry my caps lock seemed to jam

You sure jam caused the stickyness happy?

No it must be my powerful Qld fingers

Lots of fingers being pointed at Warner now from all reports

Seems he may have tried to throw Lyons , Starc and Hazelwood under the bus

At least it wasn't Ivan's bus , maybe it was the Dragons bus ??

My first thoughts were that Smith is taking the blame because he sees it as part of his leadership responsibilities.

The outrage on Facebook and other social media sites infuriates me. Everyone must have their say! What a circus we have become.

Example Ch9 sticking the boot into Facebook yet televising opinions on Facebook about the cricket. Hypocrisy?

Saw that as well came from a Moses Henriques tweet. Complete rubbish claim which makes no sense. The outrage over this will get worse if the punishment is lenient. I love test cricket but will find it hard to attend a test next season if this isn’t treated as the disgrace that it is. I don’t care what punishment others have had in the past we need to say no way do we condone this

The irony of writing this on an online forum

I agree though. The worst thing about the advent of social media is that it has given every idiot delusions of grandeur, believing what they say matters.

However, is the uproar worse than the uproar over Stuart Broad, who was wrongly branded a cheat?

Doesn't matter what suspensions they get, I doubt they will ever be selected in a test team again.

And who cares about the other forms of cricket.

I'm still a huge fan of the 50 over day/ night format .

20/20 is garbage

Oh no, not the bloody OLED!
LG has dropped their sponsorship of Warner….....
How is the bloke gonna watch his cartoons with the kiddies now?

They should of stuck with the partnership IMO: LG could stand for Little Germ. Perfect!

Onya Dave, suck it up son.

Imo he was. It was the cricket equivalent of a player blatantly knocking the ball on in the lead up to a try and the refs missing it. No one calls the player a cheat, they give it to the ref. It was a terrible decision, and if the Aussies had not have wasted their reviews it would have been reversed. DRS was put in place for the howlers like that. That's what you save them for. Hate it when teams review every slight chance. Its not there for that.

Yeah well as someone who has always walked I think standing your ground when you know you've edged it is wrong. It's one thing to feather it and not be sure, another entirely to nick it to second slip and stand there like you've done nothing wrong.

Worst thing about it is your own teammates tear you to shreds for having integrity.
