Backrowers for 2018

I would love for us to build a team solely based on being a strong defensive unit

Keep Tedesco ,Moses and Woods and start all over

If Cleary comes it will be good , but the assistants he brings will be just as if not more important that his signing

Just an observation, is it just me or are the Tigers quite timid when it comes to off-contract players?

Whenever a decent name is off-contract we seem to shy away from making a decent play at them.

Is it because they lack confidence getting their man so they don't bother, save the embarrassment of getting knocked back? What is it then?

The last big name I can remember was Blair at the peak of his game.

So what if we don't get them, help push up their asking price just like so many other clubs do. Roosters, Broncos and Dogs all seem to get linked to every big name off contract. If you can't beat them, join them. Eventually you'll pull off some decent signings.

There seems to be an understanding of mediocrity in the club, but also from fans. Why settle for second best? The common theme seems to be 'who would come to us' instead of 'were going to get this guy'. As long as mediocrity is the chosen theme, mediocrity is what we'll get.

I think it has more to do with not having the funds. From next season on, we'll have plenty to spend on the right players. Up until now, our hands have been pretty much tied by cap restrictions.

Well with the little funds we have why don't we at least try - what do we have to lose?

Maybe a few of the guys would like to come here for a fresh start and get a starting spot every week.
I am sure people like Connor Watson wouldn't mind coming here if we offered him a decent contract. People like Dylan Edwards would also probably like a starting spot on the wing and we have one right here waiting for him. I could keep going on but you get the point. The tigers have nothing to lose.

Whare would be a good pick up as a well rounded centre. Won't be cheap, but played under Cleary. He would be in my top 3\. McQueen would be OK, but we need at least one guy with mongrel to come in, and preferably 2.

Materson, Hess, etc… Will be starting within a couple of seasons and would be fools to leave their current clubs where they are being brought on slowly for their own good.

Aaron Gray would be a great pick up,i would target these players;

Matulino
Davis
Solomona
Asiata
P Pauli
Moeroa
J Folau
Whare
Kikau
Gray
Widdop
Kasiano

Not sure about Solomona if storm already signed him or not,i picked these players not just on ability but size, tigers need to add much needed size to be able to compete with teams like the panthers and raiders.

Cleary will have a shopping list and if given total control have no doubts given his relationships with his players some will follow.

Makes making the coaching announcement soon critical to ensure we can get who he would wants given the volume of players avaliable whilst performing his inhouse review as well.

The guy the Tigers need most and please watch him hes one of my favorite players Isaah Yeo champion to be …...Second row center hes also played wing center and fullback just a great young player and does the dirty work

Great player very under rated and his old man played for Balmain

Yeah the Panthers know what they've got there and have signed him until the end of 2019.

Aaron Gray is huge
Played well in that country origin game when Nofa got injured

Kikau is also another monster from the Panthers.
We should've kept Akauola

Penrith have plenty of stocks in both the forwards and the backs which I think we should definetly target. Also, we are not that far from Penrith so that is a bonus compared to if were to try and target players from the storm for example.

I definitely think we should be targeting Penrith for a few players.

I forgot that Bodene Thompson used to play for us. We could use him about now. I don't suppose he would come back to us next year?

Our facilities would have a lot to do with it too. It'd be kind of like living in a crap apartment and being reluctant to bring a girl home, as seeing where you live would certainly blow it. Can't we just go back to yours?
