On the Wts website they currently have 12 backs listed and 18 forwards listed. I’m not sure when the Top 30 is generally signed off, possibly after the trials? Obviously still a lot of juggling and pieces to fall into place, as teams still in the player negotiating stage.
Is 12 backs & 18 forwards a normal split for the Top 30?

Could quite possibly be the exact point of this thread

Indeed batboy. Indeed!

well, following the signing of Junior Tupou, our back stocks look like this

**Centre**
- Gildart
- Kepaoa
- Hoffman
- Kei
- Tupou
- Talau

**Wing**
- Maumalo
- Nofoaluma
- Tupou
- Kepaoa (at a pinch)

a lot of untested and unknown entities here and our wing depth is diabolical. what's everyone's thoughts? do we go to market for a winger or experienced centre or do we look to filling other positions?

And maybe add Roberts to the list

He’ll be our 29th spot probably won’t sign until towards the beginning of the season almost so unless we’re doing some more player swaps our 2022 roster is almost done

Wow 6 centers and 3 wingers (if not 4) and people are worried about our Backs. Were not even including Peachy or Doueini.

A rant is forming next post, but seriously what are we worried about.

Only gap I see is Fullback.
Halves:
Brooks, Hastings, Doueini, Peachy and Jock Madden.

Fullback:
Diane Laurie... maybe Doueini or Peachy at a pinch.

Well, is it?

I don’t believe that Lomax is going anywhere, i think that talk was all just false conjecture around the time Saints had their dramas. If i am wrong and he is looking at $600k a season, i say where do we sign! Lomax is a gun and in a decent side he could be anything.

he signed a terrible contract. should sack his manager and sign with us

What do the other teams do:
Manly, Get good 5 backs and keep them. Run team thin without reserves and hope a Junior can step up.

Melbourne, have a swag of league reserves that they can push forward. They just breed people tough and blood talent at origin time when their first grade is out.

Easts only pay their top 5 top salary. Rest pay for peanuts.

Parra are blowing their money on a forward pack.

Whats our strategy?
Because some teams above were talking a top 12 only.
Wests Tigers instead went Depth, depth and depth. we buy a 250k player and never see them touch first grade. (Then 600/700 and never see them in first grade) Yes this is Ivan Cleary's big 17 the 25 or so players we blow our cap on.

Please, forget it.

Injuries get solved with a cap exemption from the NRL. Pick players that take the field and dominate their position. We need to get the back 7 right first and stop worrying about depth. Peachy and Doueini have all the cover we need.
