Balmain or Wests Tigers?

As a Balmain supporter growing up I always had a good laugh at the Andrew Jumper Leeds banner, very creative.

Both Balmain and the Magpies are our history, I'm just as proud if they ask Noel Kelly,Tommy,Blocker or Pearce about the club

Absolutely had a gutful of the media constantly referring to the balmain boys (sirro, elias, roach), as Tigers legends and asking there opinion all the time. .. :brick:

Heres a memo media reporters, Elias, sirro and blocker have nothing to do with the Wests Tigers. They played for another club 100 years ago and cant seem to let go.

If you want to ask Real Wrsts Tigers legends then go talk to prince, hodgson or benji etc. They actually are Wests Tigers legends who have also won a premiership unlike the so called Balmain legends..

I apologize but Ive had a gutfull of listening to these three harp on about everything that is wrong with this club. If you dont like the way things are you can jump on the bus and get lost 😡

The Balmain & Wests clubs might have went in a different direction to St George/Illawarra after the JV, like ditching tradition and having an ever changing strip, but plenty here delude themselves about Wests Tigers being a separate and independent new club. It is a franchise owned and run by Wests & Balmain (now mainly Wests). They select the WT board, they tell their reps on the board what they want. If you want a say in the club, your WT membership won't be a lot of help, you need to join the Wests or Balmain football clubs to get a vote. This "remember the past but" rhetoric, is just that, rhetoric. If I'm wrong, can you give me directions to the WT Leagues club.

^ Thats the problem isnt it. Wests Leagues club or former Balmain leagues club.

I dont believe in the leagues club anyway but would love to see a WT sonething.

It doesn't have to be a problem. It can be a win win.
The Wests Tigers have a unique marketing opportunity to please and include former Wests and Balmain fans and new WT fans.
Its an underutilized resource.

A bit cheeky but Jack Gibson also played 19 games for Western Suburbs at the end of his career.

And Gavin Miller was a truly awful player for Wests and Easts. Way to young to be playing first grade. Only really became the player we remember after moving to the forwards at the Sharks.

Another two that played for both are Greg Cox and the player many regard as the Magpies G.O.A.T Frank McMillan.

The Gale brothers, Garry Jack, Ross Conlon, Mick Neil, Ellery Hanley, Garry Schofeild - some players that played for both
