Balmain Ryde-Eastwood Round 3

BRET on the attack , but looks like Lazo copped a big high hit , still down on the ground…now up and goes to the wing , gingerly.

Bears on the attack now , swinging it the Tigers right side again..Arana attempts an intercept and just fails.
Bears attacking the line again 2 minutes to go this 1st half

Any clue on the 'suprise' yet mate?

Haven't noticed any surprise yet mate.
Balmain are as per program , except John Clayton isn't on the bench and Darren Nicholls us his replacement .
Half time and it's still 6-0 and BRET us lucky to still be in front .
Norths have attacked the Tigers right side many times and have come up empty handed everytime .
Balmain have been buoyed by a very facourable penalty counts , that had piggybcked out of their half many times.
It's a very hot muggy day here , and very difficult conditions to be playing footy

Time for another beer

You haven't noticed anyone shifting to a different playing position? Arrrgghh can't believe I'm not there!

Good on Ref, as Norths go over , but he calls it back, as a forward pass

Ha….nothin's changed from last week then....

The start of the second half see Tigrs on the attack with Arana attempting a little chip over the top , only to be picked up by a Noorths player to run halfway up the field and then David Fafita gives away a silly oversize penalty and Norths attack and get rewarded xatching the Tigers ingoal

Meaney just scored after picking up a loose Bears ball and runs 90 metres to score in the corner
Ge justs misses the conversion
BRET 10 - 0

30 minutes to go

After BRET getting another penalty for holding back an attacking player , Willie Mataka scores in the left sideline after picking up nicely a bad pass from Lazo
Meaney kicks a shocker
Tigers 14 -0
21 minutes to go

Yeah Bret, Willie Maraka is playing in the centres I have noticed this half

Great stuff…...BRET finish games strong.......thanks for the updates Alad...appreciated....

Mataka in the centre's covering injury or switched?

Balmain in again , after a nice grubber from Blake in the left corner which looked like it was bouncing badly for the winger # Sam Latu , but his flicks it back an Johnny in the centre spot, Willie Mataka touches it down for his second try in 4 minutes
Meaney having a bad day with the boot and misses another sideline conversion
Tigers 18 - Norths Nil

Not 100% sure , but Willie is still playing in the centres , #4 Gavin Cowan is now playing fullback and Meaney is off
Maybe rested up for 1st grade next week…but he better practice his conversions

Bears are in
conversion made
Tigers 18-6
5 minutes to play
just heard Meaney has been playing today with a sore leg , and has been taken off not to risk the star fullback

Bugger the Tigers let the Bears in again with a minute to go
what Joe Williams doing still running around
they convert
Tigers 18-12… Stress time

Norths get another penalty on the Tigers 40 metre line on the sound ofthe siren .
Last play , Norths on the attack , grubber kick and the Tigers winger punches over the sideline
Fulltime
Balmain Ryde Eastwood Tigers 18 - North Sydney Bears 12
